Is anyone else having robotic surgery? I will be having it on September 10. I am hoping that I will have a speedy recovery. I know that some benifits are faster recovery and the robots can get into smaller spaces. Just curious if there are many others having this kinds of surgery.

That's interesting I wonder why my dr didn't mention it? Thanks for the heads up. I've been doing whey but pre surgery like a year now using the collegen. I did plan to get it in here and there I'm going to have to run it by him again. Thanks!

I have been using youtonics and it is a collegen protien drink they are not the tastiest they remind me of melted jello but I too think they will help with saggy skin I mentioned it to my dr he said I could use then but not any more insite on the skin thing i don't think it would hurt to try

Congrats Steve! Pre liquid diet 1 week before surgery I was 303 today I am 279. I swear even if I only lost a pound I'd be thrilled but for real this is amazing. I haven't been able to get my weight down to this since 2007 when I had my son. I had went from 200 to 285 in 9 months that year during that pregnancy. I've not been able to lose since then and I've had a daughter last year. This is so great I feel like I have a second chance at being a mom.

I hate isopure I don't know if I can drink it with it puking to be honest I like the grape and blue raspberry the best I've only tryed apple melon and orange other than those ones cannot even swallow a sip of orange Going to take them back if I can also I may try to mix the grape and blue raspberry with Popsicles or jello -
Great idea when I first went shopping I remember thinkin why do they not have a section for bariatric patients or diabetics like they do for organics I wasn't able to locate or had to really search various sections of the store or go to multiple stores to get what I wanted also if you made frozen meals that would help so many ppl that are on the go or that have to cook for their family then for themselves I love organic gormet foods that are made from scratch you could always find a spot for good healthy food like that at places like whole food even if it is just tasty food that is bariatric friendly I would buy it

Surgery is a scary experience it's only natural to be nervous but all of you will do well. The first night was hell for me because of all the pressure from the gas. Just remind yourself you will get better soon. I had mine done Monday and now I feel great. I am only a little sore when I get gassy. I use the gas ex and then I'm good. I haven't felt this good in years. Seriously guys we are all pulling for you and you will be ok. My blood sugar is already in normal range and I can't say how much I've shrunk but there is a difference. I know you all will feel so much better after you have a few days to recover. Don't be nervous! Prayers for you all. I hope to all my post op buddies you are doing well too. So far this really has been the best choice I have made for my health.

So guys I had my surgery yesterday. I felt horrible all yesterday. I could barely breath because of the gas. I woke up everytime I needed pain meds. My meds made me nauseous so they had to switch them. I couldn't eat ice or water or take gas x till my nausea was under control. This morning I was still full of gas but I was able to get nausea under control. So I had some water and gas x yay! I have a gi drain that isn't fun. But all in all I'm doing so much better. I got my cath removed and was able to walk a little. I hope all of you stay blessed and have good health. Ill be praying for us all.

How Many People Have You Told?
Amazeyem replied to MrsCaluza's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Other than my husband and kids I have told my parents, brother, cousins, and a few friends like 2. I'm not hiding it but I'm not putting it out there all like that. If I'm close to you you'll know if not why would you care? If someone asks in the future I'll tell them. -
So I spent today with the family. We went to the zoo. I'm not sure if that was a good idea I'm so exhausted. After being on the clear liquid diet with protien shakes for a week it was a challenge to have endurance. So I took so isopure with me so I could get my protien in and it made me want to vomit. So I didn't drink it. For the past two days its been hard to drink any protien it makes me wanna be sick. I don't know why. I do the best with carnation instant breakfast sugar free or high protien boost. The stuff I bought at GNC (amp something or other whey protien and isopure) and the syntrex nectar make me sick feeling i hope after surgery this is not a problem. At the beginning of the week I was all into then and thought they were great now I can't stomach them.

::hug:: I can't imagine how that would be over looked call ur surgeon and find out what to do.

I wish I could feel like buying new clothes. I love shopping. I am going in for rny on Monday. I have no idea what to expect as far as weight loss and how to figure out what size I will be or when. So my plan is to wear sweats and over sized t shirts all winter and spring lol. It sounds terrible but I don't have money to keep buying clothes. I have no clue what I will be able to wear. I wish I was joining in on the fun. Enjoy!

My friend had a naturalist dr that said that they are an excellent source of protien. I have been thinkin about it as well I just don't know where to get them.. I'm not sure if a company makes powder so you can blend them in a shake. That's the way my friend made it sound.

So I weighed myself today and I'm down to 297 from 303 my highest was 315 when I started my lifestyles classes. I reached my goal of under 300 before surgery. I have heard of people having much more success during the supervised 6 month diet phase but I'm patting myself on the back. There have been so many roadblocks and hurdles along the way. WE ALL DESERVE A PAT ON THE BACK! Good for us all to get to where we are!

On Partial Liquid Diet And Struggling...
Amazeyem replied to RNYlizparris's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have almost ate food a d I'm on a clear liquid all liquid diet. Seriously I have to cook for my hubby and kids and almost stuck a piece of food in my mouth. Then I was like oh yeah I'm not supposed to eat. Every time I smell food of open the fridge I'm all like damn I wish I could eat that. It's mind over matter. I do however feel hungry a lot but I have been lucky because when I'm hungry it's time for my protien shake. I've been doing water mostly, vitimin water zero and that's about it. I had jello twice and chicken broth. I can't drink the broth heated it tastes to much chicken that is being boiled and plucked after you kill them. Eww. So I have stayed away from it for the most part. I thought that I would love it the most but it's the opposite for me. The jello was nice because it's close to solid food. I've been doing isopure and whey protien for shakes. I also have you tonics Collagen protien I have been drinking that for months. I hear collagen is good for skin. Hope it helps with sagging. I haven't been able to find sugar free Popsicles. The more that you stick to your protien the better I think. I'm allowed 3-4 shakes. I've been mixing with water not milk. It really has helped me with hunger. Try the jello also when your hungry because it's going to take some time to melt and maybe will satisfy you? Stay strong it's not easy but you can do it. I thought I'd be all weak eating under 800 calories but I have more energy than ever. Weird. ::hug:: you can get through it.
