  1. So, I completed my first 5K since surgery last May. Did it in 44:31 only ran about a third of it and walked the rest. This time last year I never imagined myself doing this. It was amazing. I actually felt like crying afterwards, but being the big badass I think I am....i held it back. So here are a few pics of before the surgery and on 5K day! And lucky me the beautiful girl next to me is my soon to be wife on April 14th!

    Has anyone lost 200lbs?

There will come a point in a few months where it can be a drain on you if you weigh yourself everyday. Doing it for the 1st month or 2 is fun but after that try weekly. I messed up and for 6 months almost I was weighing myself daily. Dumb idea on my part. I got super pissed and discouraged. Luckily my mom lives in the same town and had the RYN 7 years before me. She was my rock during that time. So basically just be careful getting on the scales too much! ????

Biggest thing...listen to your nutritionist! They know what they are talking about. Don't try anything too early. Stick to the program and you will succeed. You WILL hit a wall. Just keep to the program and do not get discouraged. It happens to everyone. As soon as you are allowed to start exercising, do it. Even if it is just small amounts each day. The more you do it the easier it will get.

Just make sure it shows you at your worst, that way it motivates you 10x more. Mine was while sitting in a mexican restaurant. Then i look in the mirror and know that I am better off.

    Has anyone lost 200lbs?

I have a picture of myself on my fridge from my heaviest. That's one way, also Just remembering how great I feel after I workout. I started off by walking half a mile twice, the upped it to a mile and so on. I am up to walking 5 miles now. Just kept chugging along. Once the surgery was over I got a ton more energy and just had to motivate myself to start with and the rest has been easy. Just have to get into a routine and make it a habit.

    Has anyone lost 200lbs?

I have a total of 220 to lose and I am down right now 8 months out today 160lbs. Only 60 more to go with ultimately keeping 200 off. After 6 months I slowed WAY down. But now I am working out, and hoping to keep the losing going. Started at 427 down to 265 right now. Let me know if there is any advice or motivating words needed!
  8. Thank you! I am getting married in April and she has been with me for 7 years now! She was already a skinny thing and was amazed that she stuck with me. I gained about 60lbs from the beginning and now I feel like she can have someone worthy of her love. To me it wasn't fair to go on in our relationship being that big and having the chance of leaving her widowed early in life.

    Anyone Around 400 Pounds?

I started out at 427 and my doc told me that for my frame a healthy weight would be between 200-220. I am 7 months out today and down to 269. Just stick to the plan an you can do it! Once they say it's cool to exercise, start walking, you would be amazed at how something like walking would help shed even more weight. Doc told me that I am way ahead of the curve and to keep it up. The weight will continue to come off but much slower after about 6 months. My goals is to be as close to 200 as I can be before my wedding in April. Already down to weighing less than I did playing football in high school. My starting pic was at about 440 and this was me on my birthday last week.
  11. So, surgery was 5/24/12 and I have lost 150lbs! I knew it was a lofty goal but I knew I could do it with some hard work. Walking almost every day about 3 miles even running some of it. I started at 427 on surgery day and now I am at 273. My goal is to be down to goal weight by April. Goal is anywhere from 200-220. I am shooting for 200 that way I can start lifting weights to bring back all my strength from before and be around 215-220. Best thing I ever did for myself!
