Berfore & After

You must be so proud of yourself! You look amazing! -
Have you tired tofu? I have it either in a vegi stir fry with soya sauce, or marinated in a curry mixture and then cooked. I also find ground beef is great and very versatile - from spicy meaty balls to Bolognese sauce... And all the family can eat it ! Go to the world according to egg face for loads of great ideas

I hope things better for you soon. are you still in the hospital?

I had to have an ultra sound pre op. the technician who did it pressed really hard and i just thought it was normal. Then a few days after i had an attack.. Wow that was so painful. It happened again twice before the surgery .. Luckliy i told my surgeon and he took it out while doing my op ( reversion from lap band to rny). He said that it was likely that the ultra sound tech pressed so hard that she " dislodged" one maybe. Lucky for me! - that i didn't have to have 2 surgeries. I hope you feel better soon!

Whats for dinner tonight?
juditha replied to jaymi2521's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found shakes that pre op i could drink became un drinkable post op too! I changed to a matrix ( by syntax i believe) and it was SO much better. I dont live in the states but i know if you do, you can order sample packs and try alot of different flavours until you find one good for you without having to buy a huge tub!! Also using 1% milk with Water also made the shake drinkable -

You look amazing! How far are you post op? I bet you wake up each morning with a huge smile!! Congratulations -
I find that i gain a bit when A) iits that time of the month i haven't been to the toliet for a few days C) stare at the scale all the time!! :-) Firstly you body is in shock, and trying hard to hold onto ever calorie or oz of water it can. Put your scale in the cupboard for a week and I'm sure you see a lose . I cam gain3 pounds during a day if i weigh my self in the morning and in the evening. Im four months out, had a few stalls, and felt that im losing slowly but suddenly im 73 ponds less!! Keep the big picture in mind and. Hide that scale!! Good luck!

Im just making a red lentil, sweet potatoe and tomatoe soup. Its really easy, everyone likes it and i hope its pretty healthy , i might add a spoon of low fat white cheese ( its like a blended to smooth cottage cheese) (quark maybe?) for some extra protein... -
I have taken "gentle iron" by solgar for a long tine. Its one of the only tablets that doesnt make me suffer from either constipation or stomach ache. I also tried a liquid iron supplement ( from a company called novel care) which was very easy to take

Hiya!!! I am SO happy with my revision. For me its a pleasure to eat again after that horrible band!! I Also felt that i was losing slowly - especially as i have had a few stalls - but suddenly i realise that ive lost 70 pound so far!!! It suddenly seems so much in a short time! I am walking 5 times a week at least and go to the local areobic study 3 times a week. They open a group for " large girls" about 2 months ago where we do different things each week. Its a good laugh and these no supero skinny girls to make us feel bad !! How are doing? Happy with the New life? Happy with the new you?

well heres a photo i took today, and when i compared it to a horrible photo pre op - im really happy. its slow going but im doing a lot of sport and exercise and im feeling really good. one friend who i did tell about the op, told me that it is as if i have had a "restart" to life. thats how i feel! im down 70 pounds so far, and have had a few stalls, but i am not really keeping a track of anything. i just dont want to get to obsessed with each pound. i just know that i feel good!! -

Anyone tried sushi yet?
juditha replied to Amandabythepound's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe you can have a miso soup with tofu instead of sushi. I have had sushi ( maybe 3 pieces including the rice) with no problem... Which i picked at slowly .... -
I was very upset when my surgeon refused to tell my husband that i could not have sex for six months .... Lol

I am 3.5 months post revision, and have had quite a few stalls , so i understand how you are feeling. I try to keep off the scales, drink more Water and i have found that taking my Vitamins help. . Unlike any other attempts at losing weight, this operation has given me the confidence to carry on. Before, if i was on a stall i would just give up because i didn't see the point of trying so hard without any results. Now i just know, 200%, that i will lose weight, if not today, maybe tomorrow or even next week so it keeps me going. I have long term goals and keep them as my target. But sometimes i get on the scales and hold my breath so i might weigh less though!! Lol

Im now 3 months post revision op, after having the lap band for about 8 years. I was also bad with the fills too. i would have to drive an hour and a half to the hospital, wait around from 1pm until at least 6 and sometimes longer to see the surgeon for 5 minutes. And the lots of times to return after a few days to the er to remove the fill because i could drink anything. I wish i had done it years ago. Its so good to eat without that horrible chocking feeling. And now i know what full feels like, which i never got with the band. I had revision rny and my gallbladder out in the same operation. But i did have all the fill of the band out for two months before to help with the chances of doing the op all at once. My surgeon was very experienced, and everything went very smoothly. I hope it does for you too.

Worst comment you've heard so far
juditha replied to michelecaples's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My lovely husband wondered why i got very angry with him, after returning from my morning walk. He looked at me, and said you are going to have to lose alot of weight on my legs because they are still really fat!!! Since the op (3 months ago) i have lost about 55 pound, i walk about 2.5 miles each morning and go 3 times a week to aerobic classes. I am trying so hard, i just couldn't understand how stupid he could be. And he wonders why he doesnt get alot of sex!! Lol -
I also found that i was rather smelly! Luckliy theres a deoderant cream here in israel that you put a small dab under your arms once a week and all smell is gone! Its amazing stuff --/ and theres one especially for feet which works amazingly too. What i like about it is that i dont have to suffer a strong perfume smell which i hate
