October Surgery
kisersassy replied to soontobehealthymom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My last appointment is October 23rd then it will be the waiting on insurance approval part. So knowing I have to be on a one week pre op liquid diet I am looking at November as the earliest time for surgery -
Right now I am suppose to have like 50-60 a day then after surgery about 90
-
Yeah LOL. I was wrong its 30 grams of protein plus the 8 grams for the milk
-
That would help tremendously. The only thing I do drink and has always been is water and coffee. Maybe and I really mean maybe once every month or two I might have lemonade or a soda or tea when we go out to eat. And that is only like once a month
-
My hardest obstacle is drinking 64 ounces of water. Does it all have to be water? Or just 64 ounces of liquid? Like can I count my decaf coffee as part of that 64?

Going Back To Work?
kisersassy replied to pebbles7673's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was working until 3 mths into my 7 mth process. I was having to take off work for this test or that test and the monthly weigh in appointments and regular doctor appointments. So I just quit. And since I had just started there I knew FMLA was not available to me once I do have surgery. So I just decided to wait till the process is over and the surgery is over and recovery is over before finding a different job -
The shakes are hard but I tried a recipe today was pretty good. I bought a big container if the vanilla cream whey protein. One scoop has 35 grams of protein and you can use 2 scoops for 60 grams. Then 8 ounces of 1% milk gives you another 8 grams of protein. Slice a banana and add about 1 tbsp of sugar free strawberry jello mix and blend. You can add ice if you want to blend it too.

Op On Monday The 27/8 Any One More?
kisersassy replied to monac's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good luck all having surgery tomorrow!!! -
I think there is a by misunderstanding in this post. I have read every post. And I am not taking sides but I didn't see anything but his opinion that you shouldn't get approved if your BMI is under a certain number. I think we all can support each other and yes he needs support too. So why don't we move past this and find common ground and help each other. By the way my insurance requires 40 BMI or 35 with a Co morbidity

I'm Just Waiting On Insurance Approval

Oh nice!! My pre op diet which is months away yet will be liquids only for a week before surgery. My doctor wants me to lose at least 5 lbs before my September 24 appointment and 3-4 lbs after that in October. This last appointment I had gained 7 lbs which I keep beating myself up over. I keep thinking I should have waited to quit smoking sigh... -
Jeff I just downloaded this apparently a few days ago and love it!!!
-
Congrats!!!! We can be quitting buddies. Tomorrow makes 4 weeks since I quit. I am using the electronic cigs to help me. My doctor said it is perfectly fine for me to do. I smoked for 26 years. My husband quit with me so that helped. But I do like being around people smoking just to get the smell lol
-
Welcome and good luck with the pre op diet. My grandbaby is one of the biggest reasons I chose to have surgery. It's just taking firevr these last 2 months. I guess my surgery will be in November
-
OK so if I am 281 and 5'8" I guess I should be 150 or less? So about 130-140 lbs I need to lose
-
I am having the rny done. My doctor told me I should lose 100 lbs in the first 4 months. I am not sure how much weight I need to lose. Really never sat and figured it out sigh ....

Waiting Is Exhausting When You're Already Ready
kisersassy replied to lovealways's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am glad i will only have to do a one week pre op liquid diet. I couldn't handle a 4 week one. My body would definitely go into shock with no food and no cigs and no coffee lol -
