I understand completely I have wanted it for 10 years and finally had the insurance that covered it. now does he have to do a bowel prep? I would definitely recommend it since he is eating solids before surgery as afterwards you don't go as often and that first one can be horrific if you get impacted bowels

what type of pre op diet did the surgeon put him on? most have nothing but liquid diet some have liquid diet but one high protein low Carb meal for dinner. this is to shrink the liver to make surgery safer and quicker. by now he should be watching his sugar intake and have nothing with 10 grams of sugar or more. splenda or artificial sweetners decaf teas and coffee and sugar free products. it will help detox his body for surgery and post op wont be such a shock with had headaches etc.

well i would suggest a different supplement other then slim fast. a rule of thumb is for every 10 grams of protein calories need to be 100 or less. I recommend Total Lean Shakes from GNC or EAS protein Shakes you can get those at Walmart. instead of salad I would recommend at least 3 oz of grilled fish or chicken breast. you want your protein first and then veggies and then fruit.

    Getting Frustrated!

ok I tried this today and is delicious I am 4 weeks today. low-fat refried beans with a little dry taco season powder and shredded Cheddar cheese microwave for about 1 minute and stir and add a tbls of sour cream
  14. yes it is!! I am waiting on a call from doctor as we speak. just over the past few days food was either painful or uncomfortable going down today water started being uncomfortable and vomited twice. I literally took one sip of isopure grape frost to get my thyroid medicine down and was in pain for about an hour and felt better after vomiting. and it wasn't induced either

    I Had Surgery The 21St.

Milly I was going to GNC tomorrow to get me some to try. what would you suggest and how much are they?
  16. well SF popcicles are a must!!! cream soups like Campbell's cheese and broccoli was really good along with cream of chicken and your low-fat cottage cheese. if you don't have to do a bowel prep I would suggest miralax and suppositories and gas x strips or chewables.

when did you have surgery? I am 4 weeks post op tomorrow and I am in terrible pain in my stomach. maybe I ate too much today and that's why? I had 4 ounces of mashed potatoes 2 oz for breakfast and then 2 oz at lunch and just ate 2 oz of SF pudding

oh I hope so for me i see now where the frustration comes from now over stalls.
  20. do you have to vomit for it to be a stricture? I have noticed the past few days it hurts to eat. surgery was 10/29 so almost 4 weeks post op and I am on pureed /soft foods. I can drink water and soup without pain but sometimes I get nauseous with the water. and I wake up every morning nauseous and discomfort drinking that first bit of water in the mornings

    Happy Thanksgiving

I took and pureed more or less some Turkey then added a tablespoon of gravy and then mashed potatoes. pretty good mixture lol. I feel I didn't miss out on Thanksgiving at all. and I did the black Friday thing and stood for 3 hours and definitely worked off any calories I consumed today
