October Surgery Dates
kisersassy replied to RhondaWilliams's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really haven't stuck to a routine. I know what I have to get protein wise and just try to get it in. I have been sick so much the past couple months with only about 2 weeks where I kind of ate. I love Kroger's low fat crackers. I will get a can of tuna and tablespoon of Mayo and 5 crackers and have that for lunch or dinner. I sometimes eat a dannon lite and fit Greek yogurt blueberry or strawberry for breakfast or snack. I use to love cream of chicken soup but since gallbladder surgery last week the smell kills me. I am more or less starting at the beginning again as I was in clear liquids while i was in the hospital and placed back on full liquids now till I see the surgeon on Wednesday. I was originally placed on regular foods at 6 weeks post op. -

Heather I am only losing about 2 pounds a week. up until I got sick recently and that made a unnatural 10 pound in a week loss but I know as soon as I can eat again and get protein and water in I will be back to slow losing. and exercise!! forget it!! I haven't been able to in a while. don't let it get you down. slow loss helps in sagging lose skin too so there can be a silver lining!! I think your doing great and on right track!!! -

my surgeon actually waits till your 3 months post op for calcium. multi right away and at 6 weekdays post op to start vitamin b12. I don't need iron yet -
well its not hard if you consider foqr example one premade protein shake usually is about 160 calories. if you use powder they are usually 110 plus 90 calories if using skim milk. and that's 8 ounces and if you drink 2 a day that's 400 calories right there

What size are you now?
kisersassy replied to michelecaples's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started in 22w at 287 and now wear 18's a tad bit baggy and size 16 can fit depending on the type of jeans is snug. I wear 2x tops because I still have to cover up the belly roll so I don't like form fitting shirts. surgery was 2 months ago 10/29/2012 and today weigh 227 -
that is so awesome to have the support!!! I was just in the hospital the other day (gallbladder removal) and seen a husband and wife who got it same day. holding hands doing their walk walk walk part and sharing the same room. it was great seeing the support they had for one another

until your about 3-4 weeks out the nerves in your stomach are not working yet so you will not get the feelings of fullness. this is why it is so important for us to time and measure. you can hurt yourself by not following the rules. This is just a tool and if you are eating and drinking like the surgery never happened then yes you will not lose weight. but most likely it is water weight. just make sure your drinking 64 ounces of fluids and getting as close to 80-90 grams of protein a day you can and remember to walk at least 30 minutes a day

Worst comment you've heard so far
kisersassy replied to michelecaples's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been so sick lately with all these complications and my husband said last night that I am making myself a hypochondriac. -
I feel like I have been hit by a Mac truck!! got out of hospital yesterday evening which I should have stayed been running a low grade fever about 100.8 in the evenings. Wednesday they did a dilatation to fix the stricture and Thursday did an ultrasound and found gallstones and sludge so Friday around, noon had gallbladder surgery. and it is 100% worst then gastric bypass pain. I have never been in so much pain in my life!! I am living off pain pills and zofran. I have lost about 10 pounds since Christmas

through the ringer
kisersassy replied to kisersassy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am keeping up with the pain meds to stay in front of the pain but I am still so sick to my stomach I can't eat. I know I need nourishment si yesterday I forced down 8 ounces of unjury chicken soup and 8 ounces of unjury strawberry sorbet. trying to do the same today. the pain is still there but easing up a tad bit but I still find myself by evening running a low grade fever -
hypoglycemic episode
kisersassy replied to mrsblues's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
definitely just do clear liquids for a day or two to give your pouch some rest. if your blood sugar gets to low you can drink fruit juice just oranges this early gets a lot of people sick. but the juice is to be diluted with water
