You actually can call your insurance company and get updates. By doing this I found out they actually needed more info like a date for surgery within 30 minutes I had surgeons office on the phone and got a date and about 30 minutes after that I was approved -
Remember for every 10 grams of protein calories need to be 100 or less

Well at 2 am I had to go to the hospital the pain ad nausea was too much. All blood work and the xray came back fine so they did a CT scan and it shows some kind of fluid in my abdomen from the gallbladder rremoval said something about could be bile leaking or something they didn't seem to concerned and found something that has nothing to do with my surgery which is a large cyst on my left ovary so I guess something else I now have to get taken care of. But I am home still sick and suppose to go see my surgeon tomorrow

Thank you. I couldn't go to surgeons today as we are having a winter storm (go figure) I am a little weak today so far and nauseous big time. Hope it isn't a bug caught at the hospital yesterday. That's the hard thing we never know what's normal or not now after bypass

See if the shake has milk in it as some people become lactose intolerant after surgery. -

What day of the week was your surgery?
kisersassy replied to agirlofaith's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I think you are really setting high expectations for yourself. Most people are still on pain meds a week post op and therefore can't drive. This surgery is something you have to take time and heal and usually requires at least 2+ weeks before going back to work. I don't mean to be pessimistic but you really need to think of a backup plan. I had surgery on a Wednesday came home on a Saturday and had a drain that stayed in till my one week post op which causes a lot of discomfort. Not less having to make sure the first few weeks drinking 1-2 ounces every 15 minutes and no lifting for 6 weeks -
It is a tube with like a suction bottle hooked to it that stays in after Yu had surgery to check for bleeding or leaks. Mine stayed in till my week post op appointment so all in all about 10 days and that's when the pain stopped and I could once again sleep on my sides

My doc didn't mention it either so it was a surprise when I woke up

any recommendations for clear liquid protein?
kisersassy replied to Natasha K's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think they are a required taste. But its doable. I really like the unjury chicken soup you just add hot tap water. -
Yes lots if walking and gas x strips helps a lot

It was painful to me when nine was pulled but the pain went away and I was able to sleep on my side afterwards. Now though I can't sleep on my left side because of the discomfort on right side having my gallbladder removed!! -
I haven't tried honey. I am scared to dump. I am not sure how sensitive I am to sugar as I try and avoid added sugars. I can drink that's why I know the stricture is just starting. Its the same as last 2 times. I can drink and eat but then eating hurts and eventually in a few days drinking will do the same

I think that may be the problem lol I am getting probably 30 ounces. I am going to try and get 64 today
