Windows and Doors opening my way
kisersassy replied to music1618's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree!!! I just did my first week in the pre nursing program!! I am excited and hate that I can't go more or have more classes so that I can hurry up the process lol. But I guess my 6 classes will have to be enough for now. -
Omg this woman is driving me nuts on recovery
kisersassy replied to workingmotherofthree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Morphine and zofran didn't work on me either. Till finally they gave me dilaudid and phenegren. The pain went away and I was a happy camper. The last time I went in for gallbladder surgery I had the same nurse that I had with gastric and she remembered me and when she saw the surgeon ordered zofran and morphine she called and he changed it. -

Check with doc before taking gummies something about we can't absorb them. I am sure someone will ring in and say exactly why we aren't suppose to have them. My surgeon doesn't even start you on calcium till your 3 months post op -
9 days post op & really nauseous
kisersassy replied to TLP1212's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If your pouch is dry it can cause nausea. If you don't drink this early out you will get dehydrated. I know it happened to me. You have to do your best and fight through the nausea. Maybe your surgeon can give you a prescription of zofran -

What are the necessities?
kisersassy replied to pookybear's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Clear liquids are beef or chicken or vegetable broth. Decaf tea or coffee black or with splenda. Water and you can add SF koolaide or crystal light etc. And SF Jello. But usually you get released on full liquids which includes yogurt, strained creamed soups, protein shakes, milk, SF pudding and I am sure others will add to this list -

Stalling is normal but if you don't try harder to get the calories and thinking this early out going back to liquids is going to help your wrong. Not only is this so unhealthy and you can get really malnutritioned but you are putting your body into starvation mode in which you hold onto weight not losing it. -

Eating everything today. All head hunger almost that time of month. Least its all healthy except all the crackers with my cheese and Turkey slices and the 15 multi grain chips. Then I had Adkins sausage and egg with peppers -
I bet. When I had my gastric done I asked the surgeon how my gallbladder looked he said it was fine. But sure enough 2 months later out it came. But I think I was just starting to have symptoms of gallbladder issues. But since gastric I panic at anything that is out of the norm feeling. There are too many things that can go wrong not to worry about these things.

I have to chew my loratabs. Nasty as all get out but you get use too it. My synthroid and diovan are small enough to swollow and I am still on chewable vitamins. I know the biotin I haven't taken in awhile because it seemed to always get stuck. Guess I should try again seeing as my hair is thinner slightly -

kisersassy replied to Catgyrl68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keytones are to blame. This happens when our bodies goes into ketosis -
I had mine removed. Not quite a month yet and yes it KILLED me!!!! It was 200% worst then gastric. I am still having pain, not as bad though , and discomfort and still can't lay on my left side without it feeling like something is pulling. I have to take a loratab every night since just to be comfortable!!
