Hey everyone, I'm 25 and had my surgery 10/30/12.
-
I was too, but unsweetened applesauce I had no problem with. And that stage I had it almost everyday. I didn't eat much of it cause I was told you eat protein first then fruits and veggies so by the time I got to it couldn't put much in but I would go for it. They gave me puree fruit cocktail in the hospital. But any protein can be pureed with a little broth or the cooking liquid as well as veggies. Fruits can usually be pureed by itself some may need a little water.

Pooh your doing great. My surgery was also on 10/30. I don't think I'm doing as good as you but I haven't been on a scale in a while. Trying to hold out til next Dr appointment. How is your eating going? Congrats again on your loss. -
I really like pickles too. I just started eating them last week. I'm 5 weeks out.
-
I'm a lil over a month out. My surgery was on Oct 30
-
In a month. The first is what I was eating in the hospital and the second is what I can eat now. I didn't finish the apple sauce and couldn't eat all of the second link but I think I'm doing pretty good. I feel like a normal person again. Its one scrambled egg 2 morningstar vegetarian sausage links and 1/4 cup of applesauce.

I started eating shrimp like week 2, I could only eat 1 and I chewed it really good. My surgery was Oct 30.

I plan on making a sugar free sweet potato pie. What did you do for the crust. I was going to try a crushed almond crust, sugar free of course.
-
I love pickles too!!! I had a small piece but I just sucked on it I was scared to swallow like you I didn't want to upset my stomach. I'm only a little over two weeks out but I think I'll really try it after the 1st month that's when I can start raw veggies so I think it will be safe then.

I think you may be right with too much fat. Subways tuna salad is made with real mayo which is high in fat. Before you give up on tuna try to make it home with light mayo and see how you feel.

My plan has salads and raw veggies start at month 2 and whole grain bread rice and pastas at month 6 if weight loss goals have been met.

I plan on having kids also. My gun and decided to do implanon. Its an implant in your arm but it is just progesterone unlike the more popular implant Norplant which is estrogen and progesterone. Its been shown to be very effective and can work up to 3 years but can also be removed at any time and you can get pregnant right away. Can't get it til next month cuz I'm only 2 weeks out. Check it out it seemed like the best option for less hormones effective absorption after surgery and never having a kid before. -
How Long Was Your Stay In The Hospital?
seiko replied to worm2872's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
3 nights, my surgery was Tuesday morning and I should be getting out here tomorrow afternoon -
I use to take it in college. Tried to start it again but it was making me sick. Are you starting to take it? I never had a problem with it the first 3 years I took it.
-
Everything with surgery went well yesterday. I feel pretty good today. Thanks for the prayers
-

Sept. And Oct. Members Girls Talk Time...
seiko replied to FinerWoman's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes it is, all has gastric bypass patient are required to have it for at least 4 weeks and he only removes it after you have proven you can get all your fluids and Protein in. I like that am going to have the security of it for the first month, so I dont have to worry about dehydration and not getting my protein but it is going to be a very uncomfortable month. -

My surgery is Tuesday and I'm just preparing myself for no sex for a while. I'll have a Blake drain for 2weeks and a gtube for 4 weeks so I already know it is going to be out of the question. I probably won't feel like it and my husband will probably be to scared to touch me thinking he will hurt something. -
Congratulations
-
I think if you have gotten this far you should be good. My surgery is Tuesday also. What time do you go in?
-
My surgery is on the 30th also and I know exactly how you feel. I was suppose to be on a pre op diet this whole month and I was doing great at the beginning but my 25th birthday was on the 16th and my 1st wedding anniversary was yesterday and I haven't been doing well. I'm praying it doesn't effect anything. My pre op is tomorrow and I am going to do shakes and 1 small meal up until surgery so I hope that make up for it. I'm sure your going to be fine. Good Luck with everything.

I'm also having surgery on the 30th. Definitely stop now. Be honest with you doc and see what he says. It better to be safe then sorry. Its a week away so if you stop now there may not be a problem.

I completely understand what you are saying. I always say that that was the only good thing about my insurance cause it seems like they don't cover much but it does lower the price on the original charges.
