  1. Your body goes into"starvation mode". It's daily needs severely drop- akin to the feast or famine days. The inches vs pounds thing is a part of your body converting fat into muscle-(well sort of- fat goes away and muscle grows from amino acids and protein intake. ) Muscles weigh more than fat-and have less bulk than fat. So you lose inches but don't lose weight as your body grows muscle. Does that sort of explain it?

    When you spit up/ vomit up foam after you eat something that disagrees with you.

    It's all over the place for most people. At 5 weeks 400-600 calories is not abnormal. The doctors like you to get at least 65 gms of Protein if you are a woman and it seems like 600-800 calories is where this is doable. At my stage, post surgery, 18 months- my target is 1200. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Still low carb. High meat, veggies, and fruits. I do a fair amount of Soup as I struggle to get my liquids in.

    Hey Jimmy! Welcome! I'm a girl however, lurking in the men's room it would appear. .. But seriously. Healthy choices include limited carbs, high protein, non-fried foods. We have many threads here that cover all stages of post surgery. You will like it here.
  9. Fruits don't make me dump. Only items with processed sugars. So it probably depends on the person.

    Eat the fruit. Then you get both. I eat far more fruit then I used to. Mayo clinic says we need 8-10 serving of fruits and veggies per day. My daughter lives on fruits and proteins primarily and is slim slim slim. I think there is something to it.

    I found out where some people hearts were. While this was sometimes a painful experience, it was none the less enlightening.

    I should say I have lost around 131 lb s. I am hovering between 157-160. I want to lose another 10. HOW???

    I am down around 131 lbs. Sometimes it's 129. I really would like to lose another 10. Those of you below 160- are you having the same struggles as I?
  20. Maybe it's time to go to another dr in another facility and get a second opinion? You should be feeling better by now. (Hugs) my thoughts are with you.
