I am not a guy...and can still understand your concern, I ran the other way up to one week prior to surgery. My risk factors were very high with my heart problem, and so a friend pointed out that God opened the door, and it was either to get healed or to go to God-I had to leave the decision in His hands. I did. Now, I am healthier than I have been in 20 years, more energy...and looking pretty good as well.

Not Trying To Be A Downer But?

Makemyown, First, take a deep breathe. You will get there. One step at a time, one choice at a time. I never believed I would ever lose 100 lbs, yet, here I am at 104 lbs down. Truthfully, however, the weight loss is only one price of the puzzle. You may lose some friends...I am losing a husband of 18 years. A few friends have absolutely torn me up....not surprisingly, they were some of my bigger friends. Some don't want to see you succeed, so you just have to do it to spite em. This surgery is for us. For our body, our bones, our health. We need to fix the mental side as well, so we can learn to appreciate ourselves in other ways then a really great piece of apple pie. One step, one day at a time....point yourself in the right direction and keep moving there. You will get there. -
I had salmon last night...with cucumber salad (vinegar dressing) no starch. I ate about 4 oz of salmon, it was very rare, which is easier to process, not dry at all. Cooked lightly in olive oil and lemon juice, with lemon pepper seasoning. Turned out great, and cooked 8 oz, so have some left for a salmon salad, (kinda like tuna salad, with fat free mayo, celery, onion, etc .) I love mashed potatoes, but they fill me up too fast and stay in the pouch too long. I try to get my carbs from fruit and veggies.

Mimi-try increasing your calories to 900-and then even 1000. If you don't have enough calories, your body won't let go of your weight... -
Keep in mind, there is exercise, and there is physical activity-not necessarily the same thing. One is aerobic, the others is anaerobic. (Cardiac benefit vs...not) being active is good. However, that does not negate the need to bicycle, or power walk, or other types of exercises that get your heart rate up and sustain it for 30 min or greater. We walk when we do housework, or mow the lawn, but its stop and go, absolutely not the same thing.

Mami, keep in mind extra skin weight...plus, its back to Protein, calories, and Water...how many calories are you eating? Are you exercising? For me, when I plateau, I get on my bike more, drop the carbs from my diet, and make sure I am getting enough Fluid. In a pinch, I substitute one or two meals with Protein shakes to up my Proteins. It works! -
