When was your surgery?

I think bottom line its calories in equals weight gain. I notice at about eight months out the carbonation doesn't bother me much, but I still notice it..I would imagine if you were to drink two or three drinks like we probably used to pre surgery then yes, it might well affect your pouch. One or two sips? Probably not. But...I met a lady prior to my surgery that had gastric bypass about 10 years ago, and she was 400 lbs if she was an ounce. She told me, (when I told her that I wasn't sure I could give pop up) you can do that! (I.e. drink pop) no you can't. Not unless you want to go back to where you were weight wise. Pop is a small price to pay for skinny jeans and turning guys heads. I hated being fat. I hated being prejudiced against. I hated looking in the mirror. I hated clothes shopping. I hated my hubby looking at other women all the time. I don't love pop that much to lose all these other things I have retrieved back in my life.

Boobs on the table...yup, that was me....one other thing I noticed, far fewer spills on the girls as well....anyone else notice that?

Wow....people...people...take a deep breathe. I think the reason swilkins is here because she knows she is making bad choices. She needs support not slapping. Here is a place where we can go to confession. And be loved and lifted up, not beaten up like we were in our past lives. We were heavy for many reasons. But yes, one soda every day, 150 cal every day, 365 days a year adds up to over 45,000 extra cal per year which blossoms to over 15 extra lbs per year alone.(approx weight gain...the actual numbers are higher...don't slap me cause I am sitting in the dark with no calculator.) If we get to 150 lbs...this is 10 percent body gain per year. Ouch.... Every time you want a soda come here. We all walk with you....and add no calories...lol

Highest weight-289 Surgery weight-262 Today's weight..-174.8! Today I just went from obese to overweight... Bmi now under 30... amazing...

Barb, are you strictly limiting your carbs and still logging your food?

You need to call your doc. Try going back to a preop liquid diet, to "reset" your pouch. Then a week of puréed, a week of soft foods etc. make sure you log all your food, and are getting your protein in. And, finally, exercise!!! You can do this!! we have your back...

I can do popcorn... The problem is that it's a slider food. You have to be careful with it. It's been 7 months since my surgery and 110 lbs lost...

Cottage, yogurt and cheese are fermented milk I believe. Reg. milk bothers some, not others.

You will. How long since surgery? Take a tape measure and measure every two weeks.
