Don't do it...don't eat the chicken. Bring something you can eat...an appetizer...hummus...soup...somrthing low fat, non-fried and tasty. You will be happier then if the food gets stuck and makes you sick. -

The problem with lettuce is little nutritional value. Eat your protein first your veggies second and salad last. ..it does fill your pouch and does bother a lot of people. -

How much of this do you eat? I can only get maybe two small pieces of broccoli and cauliflower in after say 3 oz of beef. -

This is a good question. I believe that there is so much going on with horseback riding that I would probably think 6 months. Lifting yourself in the saddle...the risk of falling...the motion on the abdomen would be extremely painful. Talk to your doc.

Guys. Gals. We need to remember something. Our pouch is simply one tool in our bag of tricks. There are two other others. One is our food choices, type and quantity, and our third is exercise. We can ruin our "tool" by putting too much in it and stretching it. We need to commit to changing our food lifestyle permanently for long term sucess. That means strictly restrict our carbs...and yes, they taste good. But skinny tastes better. We severely need to restrict fried foods, bread, rice, potatoes, desserts, empty carbs. You WILL lose weight regardless what you do the first 18 months afrer surgery. But if you don't create new habits now, despite the smaller stomach, your wls will fail you. If you do fried foods. ..and even when you take off the breading...the food you consume is saturated with the grease it was cooked in. A diet rich in low fat protein and fruits and veggies will be tough to go overboard on the calories. Its not as tasty. ..but its so much healthier for you. -

Went to the doc yesterday with chest pains and they ran blood tests. The liver enzymes are over 1000. They are talking liver failure. Anyone know anything about this? Some are saying bariatric patients sometimes have crazy high liver enzymes.

Please call your doc...maybe a stricture or ulcer?

No way could I eat that bread. It takes me a half hour to eat a slice of toast with cream cheese on it. I'm 9 months out. People- you must must must stay away from that bread! Part of what works for sustained weight loss is a low carb lifestyle.
