May 21, 2014 will be 1 year post op from gastric bypass, my goal was 200 lbs, but have changed it to 199lbs., current weight after 11 months is 210, started at 340 lbs. may not make 199 by May 21, but should be close. have no regrets in doing this, feel so much better. I have had my ups and downs, but glad i did this a year ago

So getting back on normal foods, wondering what kind of cereal to try.
mijpow replied to Sunlight61's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't do cereal and milk anymore, had it twice in 6 months and was not good to me. I was a milk drinker before my bypass, but have had less than 1/2 gallon in 9 months. -
May 21, 2013 and now 9 months later, down 120 lbs. I feel better, try to eat healthier and workout 4-5 times a week. weight lost has slowed to 5-7 lbs a month compared to 15-20 lbs a month in yhe early months, but that is OK.

you deserve to take naps. do this for a couple of weeks and then do a little walking and then slowly increase your walking. main thing is NOT to do nothing after the surgery, exercising it the key.

I think 9 weeks out is too soon, i waited 6 months before i drank. i dont think people will think you are a party pooper for not drinking. you have to ask yourself how serious am i about losing weight. what if there is food there at party, are you going to eat so people won't think you are fun. remember, it's all about you now for awhile. i think you can still have fun at a party and not drink and eat. i am not trying to be an A$$, i am 8months out and lost about 115#s, the road has been tough, but it can be done. Again, not trying to piss anyone off.

great job, next week will be 8 months for me and down 112 #, my weight loss has slowed down, can get frustrated at times, but i still try to eat right and workout 4-5 times a week. losing about 5-7# per month.

NSV:Ok,I was wearing 3x shirts before surgery in May, have reduced to 2x for several months. Opened my Christmas gifts and wife had bought me 3 shirts size 1x. I told her a was not ready for this size. She told me to try them on, well.. I was Wrong, 1x was just right, sometimes it is hard to go down a size, just not use to it. Hope all had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year

This stall might kill me!
mijpow replied to SarahBeth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i stalled about 2 weeks after 3 months, just watched what i ate and started losing weight again. got where i thought i could eat more, but was wrong. going back to a cup of something and not a bowl of something. it ready makes a difference. i do eat lot of friut, but just in small amounts.
