  1. I have decided to postpone my surgery which was to be 10/29. My mother passed away suddenly and unexpectedly nearly 2 weeks ago. This has been a great time of stress and grief in my life and I'm just not ready for another shock to my body. I will reschedule a few months down the road once I feel like I'm ready to handle the next step in this journey called life.
  2. I am having RNY in 3 weeks and am starting to think about getting stocked up for my recovery and new healthy lifestyle. I would like to know: What types of things helped with wound care? What Protein sources you liked best? What did you buy to eat (or should I say for nourishment? Thanks!
  3. Good luck to those having surgery this week!

Did surgery go OK? Are you feeing OK? Good luck to you in your recovery!
  9. Now that I am on a high protein diet in preparation for surgery (date yet to be determined) I find myself getting very excited over the protein content of food. I was at the grocery store looking at some pre-cooked chicken and steak strips, both had about 20 grams of protein in them. I think I let out a verbal 'WooHoo!' Am I just a iittle strange or do others get excited over high protein content?

    So Irritated...

I hope you get an answer soon!!
  11. After seeing the dietitian yesterday and following her instructions of eating high density protein with crunchy fruits and veggies I am amazed at how well that satisfies me all day. I'm very thankful my doctor does not require a liquid pre-op diet but I do need to be as healthy as possible. I am also to take 5 minute walks 6 times a day. I was able to easily sneak away from my desk and walk around the bottom floor of our parking garage 3 times today. I made a '5 Minute Walk' playlist with songs around 5 minutes long. One day at a time...anxiously awaiting a surgery date. I'm very thankful for this support! Guess I'm just kind of chatty today...thanks for listening
