    You look awesome! I'm so glad you're recovering well!! I am so excited to weigh in again (in 12 days)... I know the scale will be down more than just 1-2 lbs. and I will do a little happy dance!     3.03.08: continued success...

    Dear Plumpy Pad, So there are several people on here that have lost 100 lbs. in 6 months time with restricted calories and activity... Which means by the end of August I could be down to 215!! That is one of my many goals, and it is actually obtainable! I have decided to try to curb my scale addiction by having my hubby hide it for a few weeks... I will not weigh in again until March 15th, until then I will just continue my exercise and food intake. I can't wait to see what I weigh then.... I will have definitely entered TWOterville! That I am sure of because on the 2nd I weighed 307... I am SO CLOSE! Here's to being able to shop in normal stores!     Hey Everyone! I have decided to try and curb my scale obsession! I just had my hubby hide it, and I will not weigh myself again until Saturday, March 15th!! So when you don't see me updating my weight don't think I fell off the wagon, I am very much on the wagon... just exercising some scale willpower!

    Thank you so much for posting that!! Yes I am still morbidly obese... but when I started I was very nearly superobese!!! I cannot wait to be a normal person again... someone that is half the size of my former self!! :drool:

I'll refer to you as: (Less) Plumpy Pad! :thumbup: Anyways, this morning I have been productive I got up and made a small, tasty breakfast for me and my hubby. I set the table and everything!! I mean it, placemats and all! I am so impressed with myself because I never cook... My hubby usually does all that! Here's my food log for the day!     Before reading this blog... I thought I was the only person who had mastered the arts of rationalization and justification!! Just think, if you skipped that McBreakfast all together you could have had something different that was more filling and less calories! That's how I keep myself in check... Yeah, I could eat this cheeseburger... but for less calories I can have a big tasty portion of spaghetti squash pesto! :biggrin: Good luck to you!!

    Pretend Banding

    So, I have decided I want to test myself a little bit to see what I am capable of. I went to a seminar to learn about lap-band yesterday, and then began perusing this page to learn more about it. Many of you talk about having to be on a liquid diet for weeks pre-surgery, and then continued post surgery. You also have mentioned not being able to drink soda, which I think for me will be the BIGGEST sacrifice. Hearing all of this has lead me to want to try an experiment. I'm going to try to "pretend" that I am having the procedure. I want to test myself to see if I can deal with the liquid diet and no soda. I'm also setting some exercise goals for myself, and I want to see how well I can cut it. I'm still researching the lap-band, and i know that would make this easier as it would eliminate so many of the hunger pains, but I want to make a challenge to myself to see if I can mentally/physically prepare for an "imaginary" surgery. Wish me luck, and I will keep you updated with my progress/failure!!

    Oh hey there, my name is Bridget! I am not banded, and still researching self-pay options because BCBSFL basically laughs at the thought of covering anything like this! I'm a Juvenile Probation Officer with an awesome husband, 2 dogs, and 3 cats! I volunteer for the Basset Hound Rescue by fostering dogs that would be euthanized withou us, and I love to write. If I can quit being lazy long enough to finish a book I might just get famous! :w00t: My main reason for wanting to lose weight is that I want to feel better about myself! I want to feel attractive! I also have been trying to get pregnant for the past 1-2 years... and my doctor told me my weight can be greatly affecting my attempts to be a mom. I want to lose weight so that I can (hopefully, eventually!) have a child, and be an amazing ACTIVE mother! I am aiming to lose 185 pounds total so that I can be 150 again!!

    I guess something about banding that I am worried about is all that chewing... I would just feel ridiculous I think... I have tried chewing things until they are a total paste, and it's just so weird to me!
