It's also called an endoscopy. To check your stomach lining and check for and viruses, ulcers, reflux disease etc. I said I had some acid reflux so they sent me for it. If you don't have any history problems, then maybe you don't need it :-) HW 341 LW 214.2 CW 299.1 RNY 03/25/13

I think a lot of us share the same fears but that's why we're here… to help support each other and keep us focused and positive about our lives ahead. I'm 5'1" and a half (that's right, the HALF Matters! LoL) and I weighed a high of 330. Currently I'm at 312-314. I'd like to get to 130. That's my ultimate goal but if I could reach 150 I'd still be happy :-) HW 330 CW 312 RNY 03/25/13

LoL I've been waiting since my Dr faxed in the referral for this surgery: Dec 2011!!!! Patience?? I have Plenty! I actually saw a Dr about the RNY back in 2000 but decided against it bcs I wanted kids first… this time around I decided enough is enough. My son is (now 12) and I've missed tooooo much with him. I "dieted up" to 330 lbs and I'm done! Time to put life in order. HW 330 CW 312 RNY 03/25/13

For preparation, I've been buying some things like crystal light when it was on sale, chicken broth, Vitamins, etc… mentally, I've been following a few WLS groups on Facebook and living on here just to keep myself positive, motivated and prepared for "Post op" life with fellow "Posties"!! I'm soo looking forward to being able to ride a bike with my son!! Play with my son. Do Things with him! I feel like I've missed sooo much of his life bcs of my weight problems. It'll be wonderful to spend time outdoors with him. That's what I'm looking forward to!! HW 330 CW 312 RNY 03/25/13

March 25th is my date!! Can't wait. Feb 20 I meet with the anesthesiologist, start optifast March 4th. So nervousness and excited!! :-D

The nut told me that (when the time comes) I could have mashed potatoes but Only after I ate my protein portion first. That way I wouldn't fill up on the potatoes! :-D -

I was really hoping for a Dec or Jan date but I got a March 25th date and three weeks optifast diet starting march 3rd. Feels like its soooo far away :s Anyone else have a March date???

I have a meeting with the Dr on Dec 14th. I'm hoping he starts me on the optifast diet right away. If so, then I'd be looking at a Jan surg date. *fingers crossed*

I finished all of my mandatory appts. Now I'm just waiting to hear back with a date for the Dr. and/or any other appts they want me to do. I gave the dietician and nurse the dates I'm able to take off of work so I'm *hoping* they'll be able to schedual me for that time. Crossing my fingers for December! -

LOL I'll be happy to lose fat from anywhere and Everywhere!! Boobs, butt, back.. Take I alllll!! I have my last appointment with the nutritionist on Aug 17th. After that I hope I get an appointment with the Dr. I'm aiming for a Dec surgery date due to vacation sched.
