Rapid Weight Loss The First Weeks?
jennamommy replied to amyjo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some times when you lose so rapidly your body needs time to catch up. So just because the pounds are not coming off does not mean that the inches are not. The scale is just a number. Go by the way your clothes are feeling and how your body is feeling. I know how much seeing a number helps I was addicted to the scale and would get so discouraged if I didn't see a change in numbers. Finally I had a mental breakdown and now try to only weigh myself once or twice a week because I was going insane. You will do great just do what your suppose to and it will all work out. Are You Happy With Your Decision To Have The Surgery?

Having doubts is very normal. Once you have surgery there becomes a new normal for you. It can take a little getting use to but once you start feeling great and getting in a good routine it becomes so much better. I didn't get the greatest support from people although my hubby has been by my side and that's what mattered most for me. I have no regrets what so ever. Even my twin brother who was 100% againste me getting the surgery came over yesterday and was like oh my goodness look at you. It made me feel so good. You do have to decide is this what you think will be best for you. Weight loss can be such a yo yo effect. That is why I choose to utilize this tool to help me lose and maintain my weight. I feel like it has give me an opportunity to retrain my eating habits and my mind. It's a tough road but if you really want to obtain maximum weight loss I feel it's the best way to go. How are you feeling today????
-
Yes I actually go to two support groups they are both very different that is why I go to both. They are very helpful. I was having a rough day and all of you guys were so great to support me right when I needed it. Thank you! As of this morning I am down 20lbs since surgery 08/01/12 and I am excited to keep dropping. I am feeling challenged again to do my best:-)

I am craving things like chips to a snickers bar. I am not stupid enough to try the snickers bar I am scared of anything with sugar. But I did have a few of my sons Pringles. I am trying to be good I didn't go through all this work to fall off the wagon, I think that's why it's such an emotional roller coaster. I didn't think it would be so hard to break up with my food habits. I thank God he gives me strength every day:-)

Feeling Discouraged
jennamommy replied to jeanetteramirez2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What was your surgery date. I am 3 weeks out today and have also lost 17 pounds. I lost 12 in the first week and feel like things have really slowed down as well. My dietician told me Yesterday thaty body is in starvation mode and holding on to as much as possible but that I am probably still losing in inches. She said over all I am Doing excellent and to keep up the good work. So I encourage you that 17 pounds is good and to keep up the good work :-) -
