Looking For A Little Love
babygirl45 replied to jadeharper's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Black cherry sugar free jello was my weakness at this stage... Can you have mio or crystal light? My surgeon allowed it and I must have bought every flavor ever made just to keep it different -

Hang in there. I am 1 year post op have and it took me a long time before I started to see the numbers I was hoping to see drop... My family and friends noticed a change in my face and arms almost instantly (less than a week) but to me it was the number phsycing me out. Just stick to it, keep a positive additude, and maybe try to stop watching the scale. Go from weighing yourself everyday to every other or twice a week. I did this and before I knew it without realizing I had lost 50 lbs before returning to work :-) Good luck!

I am a coffee addict. I always get skinny caramel machiattos made with soy milk. or regular coffee with sweet and low. If you like energy drinks the Monster Rehab or Rockstar Recovery drinks have no sugar and are not carbonated so they work fine also the non carbonated Go Girl drinks work well.

What Do I Need For The Hospital Stay?
babygirl45 replied to pebbles7673's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stayed in my hospital gown the whole time. You will probably want to bring sandals or slippers so that you can get shoes on easily without bending at your incisions and a phone charger for sure. The day of surgery I was very nervous about being put to sleep but they gave me an injection of something to "calm me down" and then on the way to the operating room they must give you the sleeping drugs. I remember them telling me that I would have to help move myself onto the table but the last thing i remember is kissing my husband in the hall before going down the hall towards the op room and then briefly remember a groggy feeling of waking up to my surgeon telling me my husband was waiting in the hall for me and surgery went fine. I was in and out of sleep for the entire day of surgery and most of the next before they released me. My husband stayed with me the whole time and he brought ipads and things for him but I had no use for anything but the bed lol. -
Thank you! When I started out I had realistically hoped for like a size 8 comfortably. I never even dreamed to be smaller than that. Good luck to you on your journey!

I had gastric bypass a year ago July 11th. It is the best decision I have ever made. I just recently had to have my gall bladder removed which was expected eventually but other than that and the drain causing me pain the day after surgery, I have had no complications. I have gone from a size 18 to a size 0 in less than a year. This is much more wieght than I ever expected to lose and I haven't yet hit a plateau but I am very happy. I feel healthier and much more comfortable in my skin. I can chase my kids around the house without feeling winded immediately. I have only experienced mild dumpin syndrome once from too fatty of meat. It was very uncomfortable and for that reason I am very strict about what I eat. To anyone considering this surgery, I am 30 years old and a mother of 2. Ive gone from being a comfortable size 18 to being a baggy size 0; I've lost 145 lbs in one years time and I feel great physically. I had dangerously high hypertension before surgery ad less than a month after I was off of all medicine as well as off all asthma medicine. It is a challenge at first and you will struggle at times but when you start seeing and feeling results from all the work you've put in you will feel wonderful. I now enjoy eating right and excercising everyday. Those sweets and junk foods I used to crave have been replaced by fruits and veggies and getting in the gym. There are times when mentally I do not feel any different than the girl I was a year ago but it subsides quickly as soon as I hit the gym or play tag with my kids. I never would have been able to run with them or even at the gym for longer than a few minutes before. It's a life changing decision and I fully recommend it for anyone struggling with health issues or self esteem issues that cannot seem to do it alone but are willing to make the life changes and put in the work to make it successful
