Sagging skin? Need advice
NurseTAB replied to Pam Peltz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm down 75 pounds and getting saggy skin I'm 27 and have always had problems with my skin not being elastic have the stretch marks to prove it. I figured I would rather have saggy skin then having the fat that filled it. When I'm older and after having all my kids will think about plastic surgery. -
The breakup wasn't for long I have been with him for 6 years and we have issues, like he really hasn't had a job for 6 ears other then a few months and I told him to shape up or ship out tired of paying for everything.

How long can I expect to be off of work?
NurseTAB replied to kcreed's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have mostly been on the Facebook September Members page, life is going. I am down 75 pounds since surgery in sept. My relationship with my boyfriend of 6 years has been rocky so I been dealing with that. And now that I don't have food I feel lost and bored and find myself depressed trying to work through it. Nice to see someone notices I haven't been on in awhile. -
How long can I expect to be off of work?
NurseTAB replied to kcreed's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a nurse in a ER and took 4 weeks off and should of taken 6 weeks and still I was extremely tired my first 2 weeks back at work and was only able to work 8 hours not a full 12, if your job is physically demanding take as much time as possible trust me -
I am taking it and it doesn't seem to have any effect on it

Not Losing Weight?
NurseTAB replied to emiller2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a plateau at about week 3 and stayed at the same weight for almost 2 weeks I wanted to cry and thought I did the surgery for nothing and I'm not gunna lose anymore, then bam started losing again and I hadn't changed a thing. Don't worry you will lose weight with time as long as your eating and drinking everything your suppose to and will lose even faster if you exercise. -

I am a band to RNY, almost 3 months out and had no restriction with my band and with the RNY I do. I have had all the fun stuff like dumping and foamies and have eaten to much and payed for it. I was worried that the RNY wouldn't work for me since the lap band didn't but was wrong its working great 51 pounds down.

Struggle With Optifast
NurseTAB replied to Blue Chevy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did the optifast when I did my lap band surgery 2 years ago and was unable to do the 4 weeks I ate a meal a day along with drinking the shakes. -
Where to begin this might be lengthy but I need outsiders opinion. I been with my boyfriend six years he has worked off and on but mostly hasn't worked. I love him and he does some house work and helps with our 2 kids. He is a good man to me but as I am getting older I want things like a nice house and to live comfortable. He has a GED but no education beyond that. I have a college degree and support all of us and I'm just sick of it. He lost his license and has been driving my car and all I can think if he gets pulled over or wrecks it I have no money to fix it or get it out of impound an I work an hour away so I need my car. It's 300 to get his lose de back so once I start making money again since I been off for surgery I will have to pay it. He isn't known for his good driving or lack of crashes. He has been looking for work but not as much as I would be if I didn't have a job. He has changed a lot since we first got together he is a way better man but I'm sick of supporting him but I love him and have told him he needs to find work to help out. My question is am I being shallow cuz money is the issue? I'm sick of working so hard and not getting ahead and I went to college to better myself and not be broke, what should I do? I want all opinions nice or not.

I was looking online today for protein drinks and shakes that I will need after surgery. Was wanting some input from everyone on what they have liked best? I found these drinks called isopure and they look pretty good but haven't heard if they are good or not. Please anyone and everyone what have you liked>?

Regrets And Second Guesses?
NurseTAB replied to theby_88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know how you feel I can't even enjoy food anymore cuz a bite and I'm full it's like what's even the point. But me liking to eat to much food is what got me into this mess so I think it's kinda for the best. -
I some times get sad out of no where and have found it's due to I'm bored and no longer fill that with food so I'm kinda lost with what to do.

My opionion yes yer doctor is insane. I would clarify with him if he doesn't perscribe narcotics as a standard order or at all. Because the no option of narcotics I wouldn't get it done. I was in a lot of pain after surgery and I have had 2 c-section and found this surgery to be more painful.

One should be plenty

Has Anyone Had Problems Sleeping 2 Weeks Post-Op?
NurseTAB replied to theby_88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you taking reglan or compazine ? They made it to where I couldn't sleep but was exhausted. Which can be a side effect of the meds. -
I never had any restriction with Water until 2 weeks ago and I am 8 weeks post op, I never gulped but took way bigger drinks then I do now. Now with food if its something I have to chew I get full in a few bites but with puréed or yogurt I never have restriction hopes this helps.
