Don't count calories. Because it is so new some days will be higher and there's your struggling to get anything in. Focus on protein, water and vitamins and the level of stage your in for eating. No counting

To eat or not to eat...that is the question!
JustJenn replied to Med1862's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's a HARD question! The fatty in me is screaming, EAT! Where the post op in me is screaming, DON'T DO IT! it will be hard if a couple pounds holds you back from the 11th and them again it could 6-12 months before you can taste these food again. Lol good luck deciding! -

7mos need help getting back on protein
JustJenn replied to copmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I needed this thread! I'm 13 months out and have gotten into some bad habits, skipping breakfast!!! Uh I know! Snacking on whatever when I remember I need to eat. And the worst!!! No protein shakes!!!!!! I'm kicking myself in the butt. I'm still losing but attribute it to high stress, high cardio for stress relief lol, and less food intake. No proud but my life is upside down. I need to refocus. I need to get back in gear and do 100%. Will make a shake before bed just ate dinner. Thanks guys! -
Waited 9 days. Go for it.

As a person who considered not having the surgery because of this one side effect... My hair has thinned beyond my comfort zone lol but it's getting better it stopped for a long time (falling) but recently due to stress has state again. BUT it did stop and was getting better. I recommend good shampoo weightless conditioners all your protein and biotin. Best of luck!

I can't believe how long it's been since I've had soda. I've had a couple sips here and there but this summer I've really craved it! I even opened a can and left it out only to wake up with it dumped ! the hubby thought it was left didn't think I was leaving it out to get flat lol I was bummed!

I also have been following you since I've joined. I can't say this how I wished things ended, but I'm so happy the balls moving and the end is closer than ever before. I wish you all the best in this transition. Be strong not only for yourself but for your kids. Look into counseling for yourself and your 16 year old daughter. Prayers defiantly your way.

Todays my 1 year gastric bypass surgiversary
JustJenn posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I survived my first year in this new life. It's been new, scary, exciting, and emotional as I go through all of these challenges. It hasn't been easy but oh man... Has it been worth it!!! I started my journey at my highest 389lbs and the day of my surgery I was 359lbs today I weighed in at 230lbs... Doing the math I lost 129 in 1 year. But 159lbs total. I am so grateful for the support all my new opportunities. Still truckin for my bday challenge/goal to weigh in at 200lbs. Top home from hospital 3 days post Bottom last month -

I cried for what seemed like ever! It's such a change in 3 days. I cried watching food commercials. My advise This too shall pass If you have to stay in your room and cry, journal, cry, and sleep. Oh and drink your water! -

If you could see my face! I'm blushing! Never in a million year would I think I'm an inspiration lol It's been a year, let me tell you. Many times I wondered what did I do? But more often than not I was so happy! Today was my 1 year with surgeon and it felt great! I sat in the waiting room with a lady who was at her first appt with him. She couldn't believe my pictures on my phone from my journey. She cried! Which got me crying.... Like wow! I've come a LONG way. Thanks for all of the support and encouragement through it all.... And the kind words :') Truly truly grateful -

I think it really depends on stating weight I was 28 when I got surgery and 389 was my highest. There is no hope for me at this point. Best of luck!

I don't know if each state is different but my dads case was also denied first and he got attorney and it took 2 years to finally get everything settled and regular checks. It was a long process Best of luck
