JustJenn replied to Jerrie Ann's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery

JustJenn replied to Obeasta's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You look GREAT!!!! Is that your first pic post?! Keep em coming and let the comments continue to motivate you! You are doing awesome! -
I think it helps because we used the good stuff and now that we are limited whatever we can use helps. I only take one too, but if I need a little extra I will take a second pill about an hour later. So glad it helped!!!

Identity crisis? 6mnths out
JustJenn replied to nepa1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have an apron and bat wings and I cringe at the sight of a full length mirror. But on some occasions (full clothed of course) I think I am cute and have covered my skin well. It's a mind game but still feels better than that extra 160 I was carrying around daily. Take the bad with the good -
A year and a half out....
JustJenn replied to kristy3k's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
:') great pic! Speechless! -
I don't have one but I do get headaches and was an avid Motrin 800 and excedrine drinker. I now only drink Tylenol, and surprisingly it helps! I drink one 500mg then one more 500mg an hour or so later. Good luck!

Last minute switch from Sleeve to Bypass!
JustJenn replied to BroJoe's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! As a bypass girl myself I would say don't stock up on anything. Protein! Try everything first. Your taste will change. Get measuring cups. And be prepared to have mercy on yourself. The journey is hard but well worth it. You found a great support here. Questions, concerns, or rants... Feel free. I'm 13 months post op -
I have a butt. Always did. I'm finding it isn't going anywhere. Lol but in fine with it as long as the scale goes down. I'm not hippy and my thighs aren't big. But I could see how that could scare you. Everyone is different. Don't let her journey take you off course

So I'm 13 months post op and as one who never felt full. I had to measure and eat slow!!!! I ate every 2-3 hours and I had to measure because I always felt like I could eat more. Well since Sunday I don't know what has changed but I'm beyond full all the time. As I write this out of confusion I'm sipping my morning coffee and sneezing and feel like I just had thanksgiving dinner *sneezing is my tall tale sign I'm full. Now I'm confused as to how this change happened does it take over a year for my nerves in my pouch to finally work? I'm about 4oz into my 8oz coffee. Familiar to anyone? It's been this battle with food lately and I'm not used to it.

Oh how the mighty have fallen
JustJenn replied to JustJenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Found this DL It sounds like she has developed gustatory rhinitis. This is amazingly more common than you think. A simple google search for “sneezing after eating” pulls up lots of similar complaints. I would venture to guess that this is related to her gastric bypass. By making her stomach extremely small during the bypass procedure, she somehow has become more sensitive to food (that is, when her small stomach stretches, it induces the sneezing, whereas before the procedure she had a much bigger stomach). She should speak to her doctor about this and see if she can try some medications to prevent this from happening. Good luck. -

JustJenn replied to JustJenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't understand the sneezing thing. It's unreal. I sneeze 3-5 times. At first it was weird now I just know, I'm full! There is no other sign until the sneezing starts. I know not to dare anymore! -
Stress can be a factor in your stall. Just keep doing what your supposed to and give your body the time it needs to break this stall. Good luck on a great school year

Oh how the mighty have fallen
JustJenn replied to JustJenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I always feel like I can eat a horse (until recently) I told my surgeon it's the worse misconception about this surgery (at least mine!) that I wouldn't be hungry. -

If it goes in (mouth) it goes down (log it) lol what I learned during my 12 week pre op course to qualify for surgery. Back to basics for me. Logging everything from food, Protein, Water and exercise. I've realized I've skipped meals and ate bad snack choices (cheez it's, uh I know!) and have stopped Protein shakes all together. I must remind you I'm going through a lot of life changes right now and high stress so I my health has been back burner. One month of bad bad bad routines and no gym but walking for stress relief. Horrible sleep and more than likely dehydration.... I'm back to logging and eating and working out. I'm still losing but by no means the right way. I keep saying its amazing what stress can do for your figure! LOL Based on logging: I need to eat every 2-3 hours, drink my protein shakes, yogurt and cheese sticks for snack. And water water water! chicken and turkey I'm all over it! Logging works!

EGGS omg what happened?
JustJenn replied to Cherry's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't even finish a hard boiled medium egg. I get BAD stomach pains that eventually turns to a full/discomfort feeling that last forever. And then turns to gas. I have stayed away for a longtime. Never understood how I can eat 1/2 of something could eat more if I tried. And can't finish a medium egg??! Weird! -
If your feeling for them you will feel them. I've had mine in for 14 months love it will feel for it every now and then.... Normal but if it feels like its coming out call your dr.
