Thanksgiving With The Unthankful
JustJenn replied to michelecaples's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am doing the same thing. I will not tell my in laws. They are very judgmental people and criticize everything and everyone. When I seem my mother in law in oct I was 65 lbs lighter than the last time we seen each other. I credited eating healthy, cutting junk, and exercise. It satisfied her curiosity. Don't tell them!! But if they notice just say thank you:) .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::. -

When Can I Go Back To Work
JustJenn replied to jpr99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone is different I went back to work at one month post. But I know I could have went back to my desk job at 2 weeks maybe even 1, but I was off during the summer and enjoyed the time with my daughter that I never have .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::. -
I left the gym on cloud 9 yesterday! So I've been going a lil over a week now and when I started I thought I was going to die. I was sweaty, I was outta breath, my body hurt, I was soooo thirsty after, I just felt like poo. But I didn't stop kept an internal conversation that surgery was a tool and I need to work harder than it. Every "thing" kicked my butt no matter what order. BUT last night I stayed on the elliptical the entire workout I maintained the right heart rate. I didn't kill myself and I feel awesome. I did the body stuff too and noticed it didn't kill so my trainer says to start mixing it up more and push. I've always given up. I have never finished a machine to the end. When I hit 100% complete I wanted to cry. My trainer totally assertive was like who cares tomorrow your increasing this was too easy!! If I can do this (kicking and screaming) you can. We all have inner doubts but your worth every pound lost. Happy Friday! .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.

I've been drinking decaf no prob doesn't bother me. But when I need it I add a little regular coffee (instant so I put a lil decaf and a lil reg so my homemade half caf) I do fine with it and I'm still drinking Prilosec rx almost 4 months post. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.

Sorry to hear that. Wishing you a fast recovery! .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::. -
Today I am 100 lighter than the day my journey started in January of this year. That day I was 389 and so embarrassed of myself and how I got there. Even then I wasn't sure if RNY was for me (embarrassed but still in denial!!) But as it was necessary for me to get healthy I am so grateful for the chance at life it has given me. I am 289lbs today! 100lbs since January 70lbs since surgery. I still have a ways to go but I am soo happy to be doing this for me:) Blessed for this chance .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.

Bmi After Required Dr. Visits And 15 Pound Weight Loss
JustJenn replied to Butterfly66's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone in my per op had that question. Our insurance and program for bmi reasons could go lower than 40 during the 12 weeks it was your initial bmi that qualified you. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::. -
I'm eating about 3 oz if food sometimes it's 2 oz it really depends on what I eat. Like eats... I can't eat a whole egg. But can eat 2 oz of chicken. Weird .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.

I tolerated the pain ok once I was home and able to have a b.m. (My first night) Which for me took all of my gas pressure away... All of it! So I think I got very lucky. I only drank pain med for the first 2 days, but the second day was pure fear of feeling extreme pain but I was more than ok the 3rd day on my own. Everyone is different but if you're like me Christmas will be just as magical for your lil one. All the luck guys! .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.

So I have always had better work relationships with older women. I have this really good work friend (older lady) and knows all about my journey and post op struggles and achievements. She has been amazing. She has recently started complaining about her weight, noticing now her cloths don't fit as comfortably anymore, how she is out of breath from the stairs, how she needs to "start doing something" Here is my dilemma... She brought me a cupcake!!!! A cupcake for crying out loud! She even called me to ask if I loved it, it's her new recipe! I took a small bite and said it was delicious (it was!) but really? I threw the cupcake away and covered it with paper. I think our good friendship just ended. Time of death: 8:30 am pst .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.

Talked her and I feel bad now. She thought since it was a cupcake and not a big ol piece of cake I could eat it. Honest mistake .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.

Great point! I didn't think of it as an adjustment for anyone else besides myself. Should cut her some slack. Thanks! .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::.
