WOW good for you just be careful. It is so easy to get hurt a this stage. As my grandmother would say: "There is a star in your crown". :-) Oh and heating pads do wonders. I lived with mine on my back in the recliner for a while.

For bat wings, sadly no. I sure wish there was. I have always had heavy arms and thighs so my bat wings are gonna be pretty bad. But like you said, at least my arms are a lot smaller. Just don't point in a short sleeve shirt. LOL Keep up the arm exercises. I will say I use Nivea firming cream. It will not help with sagging skin but it does help a bit with the wrinkly skin.

All doc are different but mine is similar to Raquel's. I am suppose to get 60-80 per day. I do a 30 gram shake in the morning as well.

Red meat sits the best with me as long as it is lean like filet. And really lean hamburger is the same (fat and calorie wise) as most chicken breast. It is pricey but I eat so little now. Actually, my dr told me to limit my soy.

confused about the malabsorption part?
worm2872 replied to Olivereindeer's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The Vitamin aspect does remain for ever but your body does adapt and you will start to absorb more calories. There are these little tiny things in your small intestine called villi. They are like fingers that grab up calories and absorb them. When they bypass part of the small intestine, suddenly there are fewer villi in there to suck up the calories. However, your body quickly figures that out. Crazy isn't it. So your small intestine starts to grow more villi in the part that has not been bypassed. After a while, you may have about the same number you had before surgery so you absorb about the same amount of calories again but you still can't eat enough for all of the vitiamins that you need due to the size of your pouch. So you will need to take vitiamins and Calcium the rest of your life. -
met with nutritionist and she didn't give me the magic bullet

I use My Fitness Pal on line and on my iPhone. I used it before and after surgery. It really helps and there are a lot of us on there pre and post op. It has such a huge database you can look things up before you eat them. It also helps with tracking calories, Protein, etc. My Nut told me preop to stick to around 1200 calories a day. That seemed to work. I am a really slow loser but I did drop about 13 pounds in three months. Not great but good for me. If you decide to join my fitness pal (free) you can add me as a friend. I am on there everyday. I wish you the best of luck! -
WTG! It will be all over in no time!

Oh I was too! But it all goes so quick. You will be fine! If I can do it, you can. I'm a big wimp.

Aetna 3 month multi-disciplinary surgical preparatory regimen
worm2872 replied to fourleaf's topic in Insurance & Financing
Hi, I had/have Aetna so I can help. How is pre-authorization for the 3 month plan submitted? Do you do that before the 3 month prep-regimen and do some sort of follow-up or do you submit for the first time after the 3 months? Everything is submitted after you have completed the three month plan. Also, is the BMI submitted from my initial appointment or is it from right before the surgery? They used my BMI at the first visit, showed the progress I made and I had to included a 2-3 year weight history. I got this from my OB/GYN. -
Heck, I had to turn in mine for three months. Then she looked at them and said I should have lost more weight. Ah, that's why I am getting surgery. lol

YOU DID IT!!! Congrats I am really happy for you. There will be rough patches but for the most part each day gets better. Don't rush the healing process but you know the drill walk and sip. :-)

You'll be OK. Have faith. The insurance companies like to torture us a bit but for the most part, it all works out. Hang in there!
