Tell me about your hair experience!
worm2872 replied to LeticiaHuggins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm almost four months out and have taken Biotin everyday. I also use Wen. I was taking 5000 mcg but I stepped up to 10000 mcg. Good luck Oh and the MOST important thing is keeping your Protein up. When I have days I want to give up or say screw it, my hair keeps me motivated to get it in. -
Also, rem we are not digesting like we use too. I know I was bloated for a while. It seems to be a good bit better now. I am almost 4 months out.
-
I have no issues with red meat so I may make this. However, corned beef can be fatty if not trimmed well. That bothers me so that is something I would watch for.
-
yep and most Nuts are OK with a little potato at this stage. Just protein first!
-
I wish I could find this!

WOW Congrats That's a lot of weight in that time!

To fix my cravings, I do what Don does. I bake a pita until crispy and add some sauce with cheese and turkey pepporoni that I crisp in the microwave. I love it. I don't think a small slice later on would hurt but I would only do something with a thin and crispy crust. Also, personally I would not do pepporoni out. I can eat sugar (Boooo!!!) but grease KILLS ME.

Welcome! It sounds like you are me in the fact you feel out of control. What has changed in your life to bring these feelings back? I know when I want to shove sugar in, it is an emotional response. You know don't do it but your brain overrides you. Yes, we are junkies and with that junkies need help along the way, even 8 years out. :-)You are not a failure. You are remarkable to have made it this far!! If you work, check with your HR person to see if the have an employee assistance program. Most do and it has free counseling. Or call your doctor or nutritionist for a support group in your area. You can do this!

scales at a standstill

Just keep at it. It is frustrating but will pass. I am in the same situation right now. Try upping your protein if you can. -
Progressive has a lentil that is pretty high in protein for a soup. I am not a progressive fan but others on here love it.

Not getting enough Protein
worm2872 replied to sapperwife26's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I think for the longest time I lived on light greek yogurt, canned chicken and cheese. And of course shakes. The only one I could tolerate for a while was Syntrax nectar chocolate Truffle. Premade shakes still make me ill and I am almost 4 months out. Sometimes a few Water crackers (minis) helped settle my stomach so I could eat. -
Congrats!! It is an amazing journey. You will have ups and downs but the confidence I have now is so much more 'healthy'.
-
I did one with canned chicken. It is a lot softer and easier to digest at first then regular (IMO). I added very littel lite mayo and seasoned to taste. I always used some spicy Mrs. Dash but you can use garlic, onion powder, pepper, etc.

Buying New Clothes- Have you ever...
worm2872 replied to sunshine413's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It would help if there was a standard size. Some places I'm a large other xl. And some the xl doesn't fit. I can vary even in the same brand. Don't get me started on pants and jeans. I'm almost afraid to try stuff on. I have a couple of pairs of 14 jeans but some 16 I can't get on. Weird. -
What kind of pants post op?
worm2872 replied to groovykg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wore anything that I could pull up under my boobs. I bought two pair of 'dress' soft pants for work. It was a good six weeks before I wore jeans. -

LOL I need new ones but I am only down really one band size. I'll hang on a while longer. But once it is just tshirt season I'll have too. -
It is amazing isn't it. They had to go in twice on me so mine are pretty big but they look pretty good even at 3 1/2 months. I use Palmer's oil. It actually seems to help.
-
Actually, I was having the same issue at your point and my Dr told me to eat or have 1/2 a protein shake about every three hours. It is a juggling act with water but it helped me. I was getting wicked nauseated. It only lasted a few weeks and now I can go longer since I can eat more protein.

Just take it day by day and don't beat yourself up. They were just pickels! You are not pathetic! :-) We all have had slip ups. Just brush yourself off and move on. -

Cris, I know you are scared (so was I) but you will be fine. Good luck and prayers! -
I actually do much better with beef then chicken. It just has to be soft like ground beef, roast, filet, etc. I am three months out and did have a very lean sirloin steak the other day. It was wonderful. :-) Toast has been on my OK list for a while but I only eat about half a slice on the weekend with my eggs. I stick to crackers and baked pita chips (they seem to have more Protein in them and fewer carbs).

what's your carb intake?
worm2872 replied to annav562's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here Lili. I won't give up veggies and some fruit. Plus, my Dr wants me to have these things along with the milk, nuts, yogurt and cheese. :-)
