Ivan... Just take it one step at a time. It is very hard but once you have the surgery the actual hunger goes away. You can do this. I'm also 40 and the last 20 years of struggles makes me think how different it would have been to have this years ago. Good luck! And don't be afraid to ask any questions here!!! We will support you.

I suggest counseling now. I know it sounds drastic but it's worth it. Also, have you taken him with you to your appointments? Sometimes that helps lessen their fears. Good luck!!

My first hospital bill came in at 47k plus a bunch of others. The total is close to 50k but the insurance rate gets the bill closer to 30k. It looks like I will have about 2k out of pocket but they will be for both surgeries. (I had to have a stricture in my intestine fixed).

Ugh! I pulled something. I went for my two week check up today and must have gotten in or out of my jeep wrong. Right below my right boob. (I know TMI) Oh wow does it hurt. I was fine!! Use this as a warning Just take it easy!! Ugh!! Can't even take pain meds. They give me a rash. Here's hoping children's Tylenol works! -

When you loss a lot of weight fast it messes with your hormones. That's probably why the dr said not to worry about it.

I have the same issue. I've been drinking lemon tea. Seems to help. -
My friend is two years out. She can eat a little pasta but not rice. It puffs up in her stomach.

It helps you track all your food, water, exercise, etc. it has an awesome database. A lot of us are on there and support each other there as well.

Ugh staples! I got lucky I'm glued and healing pretty well. However my internal staples hurt now and then. The pull and pinch!

I had the same issue. I used a suppository. It worked. You will feel so much better once you go. Some dr recommend miralax as well. -
I can't eat eggs in a restaurant. Bacon fat makes me deadly sick and they cook they eggs on the same griddle. I've asked them not to but post surgery this terrifies me. It sucks.

I agree. My first week was absolute hell. I wanted to reversed too. But I keep telling my self this is the short term and the long term is life will get 'normal' again. But it will never be where we were and that's a goo thing.
