why keep your surgery private
worm2872 replied to Lovebone89's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well, in my case I am still struggling with the thought that I 'failed' and that's why I needed the surgery. I know that is not really true but it is something I am working on. Also, some people are just rude and I don't want to deal with it. My close friends, hubby and mom know. None of the rest of the family. They can't keep quite and it's no body else's business. However, I give you credit if you want to shout it from the roof tops!! -

Well, I know I gage by what I can eat on its own. So if all the ingredients are OK and they are OK on your plan, then why not. I know I have pushed it with soft foods. My surgeon opened the door when she said she kinda mixes the soft and pureed stage. -
I had it for about a week during week 3 & 4. I think it is our bodies healing but I would still call your Dr. I found out that if I keep water in my pouch and made sure my blood sugar did not get low I was basically OK. Good Luck

All of a sudden, I can eat more than a 1/4 of a cup. I had some all day nausea for my third and fourth week then I was fine and could eat a more. I'm in my fifth week now. I think some of the internal swelling went down. I am still really careful eating. I just hope I didn't strech anything out. My luck I did. But I do know that some people can eat more than others at this point. -
How soon did you go back?
worm2872 replied to ready2smile's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took four weeks but I had a complication and had to have a second surgery about a week out. I could have gone back in three but I had some nausea that would have been hard to deal with and I was still getting my food under control. I have a desk job but I travel all over PA. -
Though I would share what I have found to work. Please add what you may have found. DiVinci SF syrups Walmart Capella SF drops. capellaflavordrops.com tons of flavors!! PB2. Amazon or bellplantation.com. Powdered Peanut Butter. One gram of sugar, 5 grams of Protein and only 45 calories. No oil. It's all extracted from real peanuts Folgers decaf coffee crystals - great for mocha shakes Smuckers SF jellies (seedless). Good for yogurt too!

Amazing. My first surgery was 50k. Not sure about the second. -
Yes. I think I will. Thanks!!!

I love PB2. I add it to my chocolate Protein shakes. I am not sure what you mean by a regular smoothie. It is food you are allowed to have then, yes you can add Protein Powder to it. I would just not go with the premade ones. They are usually loaded with the wrong kind of sugars.

Good luck to you!!! It will be over before you realize it!!!

Personnally, I did not like them at all. However, my mom is pretty picky and likes the Raspberry Vin. salad dressing.

Worst comment you've heard so far

About 8 years ago I went from about 260 to about 175. My mom had recently starved her self and went down to about a size 4. At one point in her life she was about an 16/18. Anyway, she brings me a bag of cloths and most were a size 12. She told me that she was giving me her "fat" clothes. I almost died. I didn't say anything until a few years later. She never even realized what she said to me. Here I am hoping to be a size 12 again. People are just self centered. -
Colace is not working for me. I guess Ill have to try something else. I will go a week with almost nothing then get 'sick'. It is awful.

Struggling with soft foods diet ?
worm2872 replied to TeamMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok this is not recommended!!! but I'm not a puréed meat person either. So.... I've been just chewing the hell out of the chicken I eat. I literally purée it in my mouth. I am extremely careful and take bites smaller than an eraser. -
Oh no! I need some quick help!
worm2872 replied to jodimc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since your stomach is "new" go with beef or a chicken broth based soup. Good luck -

Raw fish is pretty tough to digest. I'd think you have to be farther out for it. I like the sweet shrimp.
