Mine started about 4 months out. It has gotten pretty thin. The Dr. said zinc can help too. Make sure you are getting your protein in. Can't build hair with out it.

Leah, You have not failed!! This is a long process and you are learning your new lifstyle. We all STRUGGLED! It is hard. Very hard. Dust yourself off and start again. Eating after surgery is easier in the sense you are less hungry and can't eat much. You do have sometime to retrain your brain but even at 4 1/2 months I am still struggling with 'picking' at food here and there. I try to log it all but I am still retraining my eating habits. You will be fine. Good luck and never be afriad to reach out for help.

Wow I know mine drilled on my family history of alcoholism but realized I had a handle and other coping mechanisms. I would see about a second opinion. That's seems like an awful like to diagnose in one session.

Yep I am 4 1/2 months out and have gained 2-3 pounds at least 3 times. I just lost the 3 I gained last week. It seemd to be water but takes a week to get rid of. I think it is PMS but I've been so wonky with TOM I could be wrong. But a small gain is normal. I did this before RNY so no shocker that I am doing it now.

Hi All! Hope all is well. I think my hair is falling out too. sigh... I thought I was going to avoid it but no such luck. I am down 57 from surgery and have been gaining and losing three pounds. Stuck at 205. Onederland is teasing me. I am a bit frustrated. Last week was not good. Back on the treadmill this morning and I am keeping up the fight. BTW, The November FB group is awesome. Thanks Crystal -

found this on another forum ,what do you think?
worm2872 replied to nicki763's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow that was long lol I think there is a lot of truth to this esp about the solid food filling you up better and long than soft or liquid food. But the water loading is interesting to me. I think I'll pass on that one but I know I need to watch the clock more with water intake after meals. -
I am not post menopause but I am 41 and never had kids. The surgery has played heck with my cycle. I am now going about every 23-25 days which never happened before. I also started RIGHT after surgery and it was the worst one of my life. It went on forever. (Sorry if TMI) My GYN said that yes, we do release a lot of estrogen when we lose weight. You become super fertile and your periods can go wacko (I was also wacko for a while from the hormones). She said it affects everyone differently. While I can't speak to post-menopause, it seems that your situation may not be so strange based on what she told me. I would call your Dr and maybe reach out to your old GYN if you can.

Feeling scared... Need support

You will be fine! I am a HUGE chicken but I prepared and it was over really quick. I had never had surgery so this was all new to me. Use the drugs, walk and follow orders but don't be a hero. Use the time wisely to rest and recover for your new life. We are cheering for you! -
Pick one thing you like about ur new body.

When I read this thread, the first thing that came to this 'Negative Nelly' was I wish my legs were smaller. I carry a lot of weight there as well. BUT I need to think positive. So far I like the fact my stomach and back fat are under control. I can wear more fitted tops istead of the flowy 'tents' to hid in. I almost died the other day when I tried on a large jacket in Jrs and it fit. I know it was cut big but still that was amazing to me! -
The six months is actually a blessing in disguise. Use this time to start to change your eating habits slowly and start to get more exercise. I found that using this time to really work on the mind set helped esp in the first few weeks after surgery when things are a bit rough. We are here to support you and the time will go fast. Good luck and congrats on your decision.

I love my Ninja! I also have a 7 day pill holder. Get a big one! LOL I travel a lot for work and I bought a really nice and big lunch tote to haul my Protein bars, cup-o-Soup, shake packets, Jerky, pills, etc. around with me. I have to eat out a lot so if the menu is not working, I have back ups. I got my food scale on amazon and I bought cheap little glass measuring cups at walmart. They were like a $1.50 a piece. -
I hiccup like crazy when I am too full or drink too fast. Usually food sits well with me but you will know when your pouch is angry.

Hey guys! Don't compare yourself to other 'loser's'. We will all lose at different paces. I am about 4 1/2 months out and stalled yet again. Oh, and I GAIN! I have a 3 pound gain right now. I only lose about 10 per month after the first month or so. Yes I am a turtle. Yes I am frustrated. Yes I am silently panicking inside but I know it will come off. Well, it least it better! Just keep doing what you are doing. I know I need more exercise right now. I had work travel last week and it threw me way off but back on the horse. Hang in there!!!

I don't know what to say besides, prayers for you and I hope they can finally help you. I just wish I understood why we all react so differently to this process. I had a really bad scare early on but so far I have been pretty blessed, esp when I read your story. Again, you are in my thoughts. Let us know how your appointment goes. hugs!!

I wish you both the best!! I know from experience, the complications can be so scary.
