When did your weight loss slow down?
worm2872 replied to Jilllorraine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jill, My BF has surgery Jan of 2010. Her's started to slow down around the year mark then again at about 18 months. She wasn't a rapid loser about 20 the first month then about 10 then 5 or so per month. She lost about 125 pounds total and went from a 22/24 to a size 8. She is still losing now but very slowly, a pound or two a month. You should be fine for a while!!! -
Does anyone else get a headache and nauseated if they don't eat every few hours? Is it low blood sugar?

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! You look awesome already!!

how has your surgery changed your life?
worm2872 replied to Lovebone89's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well, I am only two months out and have lost about 31pounds since surgery (44 total) and I don't have anything earth shattering to say but I have some of my confidence back. I can walk into a room and not want to hide. For me, that is a huge deal! I also feel under control with my eating and that's a first for me. -
I was on a three month pre op diet plan with Aetna insurance so I saw one right after my seminar to start the diet plan. But I didn't have my actual nutritionist meeting (for post-op planning) until about a month before my surgery so that was about three months after my seminar. I know folks who were on the six month plan saw the nutritionist at 4-5 months. Hope this makes sense....

YES! great loss! I always look at a pound of butter. We always think "I've only lost a pound". A pound of butter puts that in perspective too.

I couldn't do pureed meat either. I just was careful and chewed it till mush. I just had a Morning Star Garden Burger for lunch. It was pretty good! -

Mommy, THANK YOU! I have one less chin! I use NuGo low carb, pure protein and Think Thin protein bars. They really help me get protein in. I still do one shake in the morning. LittlePie, It will come off. Try changing up your intake. Higher one day lower the next. I will say since I have upped my protein and calories to around 800 and 70 grams of protein and the weight has started to come off again. I was stuck too. I think you need to mix it up or your body gets used to the same level everyday. Good luck. -

Am I Able to Eat TOO Much?
worm2872 replied to Losing4Lundyn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Awe thank you!! -
JBaz, You can do this. Take it one day at a time. Literally. Take a day or two and cut out one item. Then the next couple of days work on Protein. And so on. It helps give you small goals to feel good about yourself. If you slip up just dust yourself off. And try not to beat yourself up. You've come so far and just had a set back. Is there anyone close you can talk to? We are here for you too.

I had a bag of chicken breast strips from pre surgery. I picked most of the breading off and had some canned green beans. Now that I post this I'm in a rut too lol! -
6 days post op and craving coffee!-suggestions?
worm2872 replied to Natasha K's topic in Food and Nutrition
Oh sorry... I meant not just clear liquids. I was on clear for a week then regular "full" liquids. lol -
Nikki, I thought you were doing well. What's has changed for you? Are you still tracking what you eat? Sometimes it helps to go back to basics. But how much have you gained. I gain Water weight very quickly and if I don't poo (sorry TMI) I can gain more. Hugs!!!

Advice plz...5 weeks post op!
worm2872 replied to missdesha's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The taste thing is werid. I was fine with Crystal Light until about week three and then could not handle it anymore. I have flavored water about once or twice a week now and the rest is plain. I am about 7 weeks out and I never hungry so that is normal. My blood sugar will drop and I know I have to eat but no hunger. I am now able to get all of my protein in since I can do shakes and protein bars. You will get there. -
Please tell me I am not the only one...
worm2872 replied to gc>'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I will say I lose weight on the outside of my thighs before the inside so it makes them look a bit "off". The fat deposits will eventualy shift around the more you lose. I would not worry about it too much. -
OH I am so sorry that happened! I had one get stuck but not that bad. It will probably be a bit raw for a while. I would do liquids for the day. Hope you feel better. I accidently bit a Colace in half the other day. I wanted to DIE. I was horrible tasting and burned.

I agree... I am at the point I don't worry about the sugar in skim milk and in the FF Greek yogurt I eat. I have been OK with it since the beginning. It is 20 grams of protein I get a day from both. I am very careful about everything else. I was working during lunch and ate a whole protein bar without realizing it. It was small so I was not afraid of my pouch but was afraid to dump even though the sugars were low. It was just weird how I panicked. I have been breaking them up over the day so a whole one scared the crap out of me. So far so good... -

I was allowed decaf coffee. Not sure if you are on full liquids yet but I used a little SF Coffee Mate. The acid can be a bit rough so just drink a little. I get gung ho now and can get a bit queasy. -
BBdoodle.. I do the same thing. I always measure a 1/2 cup. Carry one in your purse if you have to. If I go over that I get sick. I never get the "full" feeling until I stand up and that can be too late. Good luck! It is so hard to break.
