1.5 months post op
worm2872 replied to thunderchunky's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm the same way. I'm two months out and have to stop myself. I can eat a lot for my stage. Just don't get over full. I try to eat about a half of a cup. I can eat a whole Wendy's small chili but I stop at half. Beef and chicken are about 2 oz. I'm terrified at my amount but then I realize how MUCH I used to consume. Major difference. -
Oh honey!! Again? I'm so sorry. Been there and it's awful. Prayers and hugs!

Glad you are feeling better. It sucks! I always seem to eat my first few bites too fast then wham! Reminder. Ugh.

That awesome!! I didn't get a compliment I got a woman asking my coworker (the only one that knows) if I had surgery. And so it starts. Lol -
We have to rem that this is a lifestyle change. Yes we are changing our eating habits but a fry or two or a mini cupcake is part of learning to be normal. This is normal. What was not normal was the large fry, milkshake and a whopper one day an Olive Garden lasagna the next. Just don't make a habit of it. :-). We were given the tool to help us lead to control what we eat. Thank God

George. My surgery was on 11/19 and I am only down 32 pounds. I'm crawling along. Lowering you calories may just shove you into more of starvation mode. My dr told me 70 protein and 700-900 calories a day. I know I am just going to be a slow loser. And it is true the lower the staring weight/BMI the slower the weight comes off.

Back to work- WHEN?
worm2872 replied to sleevemeup's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Let me say two weeks for a desk job is ok but if you can take more time, take it. It's not how you feel it's getting the food and water In. It can be a challenge. Good luck! -

Gave away clothes today!
worm2872 replied to Anniesmom12's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Mine are climbing up the wall. I'm so afraid to give them away. Some of the pants I have been in and out of many many times. So in my mind I will be that size again. Also the money. So much money laying there. I want to help others so I'm fine with donating. Just scared I will fail like I always do. -
Goo for you!!! Congrats

A lot of people use the Go lean line. I just had the strawberry. Not bad.
-
I've done it too! It is ok. Like I said on MFP it was just one not the whole carton. You are ok. Log and move on. :-)

Oh I am so sorry to hear that!!! I hope they fix you up fast. Hugs!!

Drinking in the hospital
worm2872 replied to workingmotherofthree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was only given 20CC at a time. I had to drink it over a half hour. They start you out very very slow. And even with it being so little, it can be a challenge. Your pouch is so delicate you can't run the risk of busting it open. You'll be fine. :-) -
Pokybear, How are you?

worm2872 replied to worm2872's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes and rental cars, airplanes, any fabric chair at the DMV. LOL I think I am going to buy a HAZMAT suit and live in it or maybe a big bubble. -

Thirft Stores? Bed Bugs?
worm2872 replied to worm2872's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL I guess I am not nuts!!!! I'll stay out of them and just continue to donate. Oh BTW, watch hats at any retailer. Lice love hats. That came straight from the Dept of Health. I am in HR so I have dealt with a lot. -
What's the latest you eat?
worm2872 replied to 4SFLFDS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, if you are hungry or empty then eat. I know I was only eating three meals a day and I was actually waking up in the middle of the night with low blood sugar and I am not even diabetic. So now I eat 5-6 small meals per day and I feel much better. -
HI! What I would do would be to try to educate yourself first. Is there anywhere you can go to attend a seminar on weight loss surgery? A lot of hospitals have them on a regular basis. Once you see if this is really an option for you, check with your insurance to see if they cover it. Some do and some don't. Plus each one has a different set of criteria you have to meet pre-op. You will be able to get this information and take it to speak with your dr. From your stats, you meet the basic qualifications. Once you are armed with this information, I would then talk with your PCP. I will warn you, some are OK with it others will freak out and try to scare you out of it. This way you are educated enough to have a thorough conversation.
