  1. Abdominal gas pains. I've always hiccuped and had some burping post op.
  2. Mine was the back fat roll. It is still there but soooo much smaller. Now if my arms would catch up.
  3. Ugh the pains are worse then the hospital. I still have them. I'm miserable.
  4. I think you had a good substitute. I wanted a cookie a few weeks ago. So, I thought I am going to see if I dump and I should have on what I ate. Nope sigh.... Just got kinda weak the next day. No brain retraining. I just have to have pure will power. So, I will have a nibble and that seems to satisfy me (rarely). I just can't have them around even sugar free. I know I will snack on them.
  5. Yep on both counts. I was up two pounds and it finally dropped today. It had to be water. I have been actually hungry for about 3 weeks. Some days are worse then others. :-( I was hoping I would be farther out before I actually got hungry.
  6. I had a three month requirement and had to do it all. They did squeeze my last appointment in early and I was still approved. Good luck

    Aetna POS II

Yep!!! I had/have Aetna POS and they require three months if you follow the multi-phase plan (monthly weigh ins, nutritionist, counseling, etc.). My surgeon kept telling me six until they called and Aetna verified it was only three. One thing I will tell you is they sat on my application for two weeks and no one touched it until I called the headquarters (only number I could find) and got to speak to a person in preauth. Once that happened they approved in less than 24 hours. I started the process in July and had surgery on 11/19.

    Light headed when exercising?

Yes... My was not eating enough and/or close enough to the time I was exercising. Some have to drink protein shakes before and/or after. I'd call your Dr. just to be sure. It could be a vitamin issue or blood pressure.

    Caffeinated coffee post-op

It's my vice. I have a cup of coffee in the morning. I add extra water and if I have it, I found I can hit the treadmill in the morning and I need all the help I can get with exercise. I don't drink anything else caffeinated.

    Question

Well, I was told that it really doesn't matter more calories in calories out. I know a lot of people stop after 7 PM. I don't get home from work till 6:30 so 7 is dinner time.

    Chairs

WHOO HOO! That's great! It is a wonderful feeling. I wasn't squished in the movie theatre last night either.

    Vegetarian PrOp

I am a big garden burger person. I ate them preop and now post op. I am sure you know this already. :-) I was pulled from edamame (fresh/frozen) though. I guess the chemicals the use on it are too much for us post op. It was like losing a friend. Veggie and protein all in one.

    Surgery date in april!

Congrats to both of you! We are here to help! I am on here all the time. I had surgery 11-19 but I am still learning too. It is a long process but the benefits are worth it. Feel free to reach out anytime.

    Cold stuff

I would make one an let it sit for a little while before I drank it and I was OK. I have never liked really cold drinks and post op was a no go. I did half milk and half room temp water to 'warm it up' a bit too. It does pass.

    Brand new here!

HI and WELCOME! You have come to a great place for support, help and research. My process started in July of 2012 and I had surgery 11-19-12. Like gra5u5, mine was faster then most. But at the two month mark, I did two back to back trips where I drove for 4 1/2 hours each way. I was beat but I was fine. Good luck to you!

    Enlarged

I hope for the best!!! Let us know what it is or what he means by 'enlarged'.
  18. I'm really having a rough day.

  19. Wow, this is kinda harsh. Yes you are right that stalls are part of the process and that is a life style change but I am sorry that we get upset and even angry. When you do the life style change and not only stall but gain weight, it HURTS! Heck, I have even gained an inch in my waist size the last month and I am not even three months out yet. Yes, logically I can step back and understand the process but I AM TERRIFIED! I can handle the stalls to a point but the gaining kills me esp when I AM FOLLOWING the program I was given and I am very well aware this is just a tool. Yes counseling can help but it can not fix the fear of failure some of us have. This is our last hope. Our last chance. I can see all of your points but please understand the other side as well. Just like the weight will not drop off overnight our history of weight loss failure will not disappear overnight either. My NUT even told me right before surgery that she had a fear this may not really help me so I live with that daily too. Just please keep this in mind when you see us reaching out for help. I, at least, just want some encouragement to keep going.
  20. You guys look awesome! Lisa holy cow you've lost so much already! I keep touching my hip bones. They make me feel like it's working! However I saw myself in the mirror on Friday at work and realized I still have a LONG way to go. I'm ok with that. Actually it's good I realize not to get complacent with where we are now. Go team Nov! Corny huh? Lol

    OMG THE ITCH!

When did you stop with the pain meds? Mine lasted two weeks after I stopped. :-(
  22. Of course we rock!! Lol. I'm just glad so many of us are still on here. It's great to have people at the same stage. :-)

    How long

I hated it too but I was in the recliner for about a week and a half after surgery. Even then the bed was tough. Some have no issues with the bed after surgery. I was never told I had to be propped up it just felt much better. Plus I could have my heating pad. The worlds greatest invention :-).

    Water & Protein!

At the beginning it's really hard. I'm about 11 weeks out and I'm still struggling a bit with protein. I'm to get around 70 which I not an issue but now they want more veggies and fruit in. With adding these it gets really hard. I'm trying to keep my calories under 800. Heck 65 calories are just in vitamins. Water is a lot easier now. I do so much better with a glass than a water bottle. I think there is less air??
