  4. Hi Georgia girl,

Returning this week from Hilton Head SC and visited Savannah, Georgia. What a grand place! I came home from gaining 7 pounds on vacation and trying to find some motivation to get the weight off. I had lost 50 pounds but have regained 7 pounds. I was banded in April of 2008. I am wondering if the low carb diet aggrevates the gallbladder. I have stones and want to start the low carb but worried about that. I like the choices you have made and am ready to get back on track. Thanks mama 59

    Kinda Gross but I'm curious

    Miralax....Miralax....Miralax...its a wonderful thing.
  6. I would also like to try the 5 day pouch test. I am discouraged as I don't feel like I can go much tighter with the band so it looks like dieting is the way to go. I am glad I did this but want to lose 40 more pounds. 95 pounds is great. I wish I could say that. Thanks to both of you for replying back.
  7. Hi, I am a nurse. I was banded in April of 08. I am not loosing the weight like I want. I lost most of my weight the first month and then little by little. I am definately not loosing the amount I should be. I have 5.0 in a 10 cc band. I had an unfill 2 weeks ago. Now I can eat too much. I was definately too tight before that as I couldn't keep down my pills and could eat a couple bites and then I was stuck. I feel better but now not tight enough. I am frustrated and hungry most of the time. I just ordered some DVD's to get the exercise going again. I would like a buddy to help me along. If someone is out there with some advice or has the time to help that would be great. Thanks mama59:wub:

    Flatulence

Hee Hee, I am right there with you!!!!!! Since the lapband I have been taking benefiber, so maybe that explains it. I have always been very discreet when it comes to that and it is embarassing to say the least. Maybe it will get better. mama59:embaressed_smile:
  10. :eek:Everyone is different but I took 1 week off of work but ended up going back in 2 weeks instead. Dealing with the liquid diet and the gas pain was difficult, I can't imagine doing it away from home.
  11. I was banded the 22nd also. I couldn't poop for 2 days and I was bloated and felt full. I was used to going everyday and wanted to continue that. I wanted to take benefiber but wasn't sure if I should. I called the surgeon and he had me take an enema. I did and felt way better. It got me going and I take benefiber daily in my crystal lite. You can't possibly be putting things in your system without something coming out. (sorry to be blunt or crude). Call you surgeon. He needs to know. mama59
  12. You are correct. A ml is the same as a cc. lol mama59
  13. I am ten days out and still find myself with discomfort. my port site is very tender and tonight I have pain on my right side up into my back. I think it depends on the person and how much you are doing. My surgeon said the port site will be tender for quite awhile. mama59

    Help - I gained 4 pounds

I had to do the 6 month physician supervised diet. In that time frame I didn't loose 1 pound but gained 4. I was told that the amount doesn't matter it is the compliance factor that counts. The fact that you were trying, that you saw the doctor every month and tried to do what they suggested. I was approved at the end of the six months. mama59
  15. As a nurse, my thought is that something is wrong and yes you need to let the surgeon know all that is going on. Let them be the ones that decide. You don't want to become dehydrated. mama59
