Saw the surgeon today and I guess I lost track of time. Here I was thinking I'm 2 months post op. but I'm only 6 weeks. Lol. I know I know. Technicality. Anyway, I am down 24lbs and he asked me if I felt full. I told him now. He told me I needed to start eating more solid foods. Like chicken breast. ( not the mushy chicken salad I make). And steak. Etc. I have been a little scared to try it.

Same for me. I just eat the amount in supposed to then stop. My surgeon today told me to eat more solid foods. However I am 6 weeks out so I am allowed chicken and steak etc.

No I didn't have to do a pre-op diet but it was strongly suggested to have a protein shake as one mean replacement and not to gain any weight. -
I was able to have oatmeal at my softfood stage. When I was able to have yogurt, cottage cheese and Beans. But as you know. Every surgeon is different. Check with them first.

It does make soup a little thicker. And you can not heat it higher than 130 degrees. But I mix it in everything. Greek yogurt, tuna, chicken salad. Crystal light.
-
I buy unjury from online. It is 21 grams of Protein for one scoop and there is no aftertaste. Dissolves pretty good.
-
I love it! I use the unflavored and chicken soup flavor. Versatal enough to use in so many things.
-
I put unflavored protein powder in my water with crystal light. Also you could purée tuna and add unflavored protein powder.

You aren't alone in the wtf's...... But it will get better. And you need to focus on the positives. 24lbs is awesome! Food is a hard thing to part with because you still need it to live. Unlike cigarettes.... Just have to keep food under control don't let it control you! Good luck! You can do this! -
Woo hoooo!! Great job!

No my dr recommended injury so I've used that. I didn't try any flavored other than chicken. For regular Protein drinks I use RTD 51. It's a premade Protein shake. 51 GRams of protein. It's good. -
