Congrats to u both on your surgery. Yes, each day gets a little better than the last. I know I didn't see real improvement until at least 2 weeks out, but not real good until 5-6. Keep walking, resting, and sipping and u will do great! Welcome to the losers side! surgeversary 7/24/12, highest weight 267, surgery weight 262, current weight 210

A Happy, Overwhelmed Moment

I cannot wait for that moment, Congrats and enjoy it! surgeversary 7/24/12, highest weight 267, surgery weight 262, current weight 214 -
When it comes to Water, I think you tend to swallow air as well causing pain due to gas. The popsicles don't have that same effect. I had much better luck with sf popsicles at first. surgeversary 7/24/12, highest weight 267, surgery weight 262, current weight 214

Ok Tmi But I Need Help
luvlife replied to roxyraquel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The dark stool is probably from blood from the surgery. It is ok to ask the doc just to make sure, but I think that is pretty normal. surgeversary 7/24/12, highest weight 267, surgery weight 262, current weight 214 -
I could on my first day home, so enjoy! surgeversary 7/24/12, highest weight 267, surgery weight 262, current weight 214

Sounds like dumping, but u may want to check with your Dr. I would say just worry about getting your fluids in, walking and resting. The first two weeks your system is very touchy due to just having surgery. Don't throw the Protein drink away yet, give it a few days at least then try again. Good luck and wishing u a speedy recovery. surgeversary 7/24/12, highest weight 267, surgery weight 262, current weight 214

I could take them whole. Or you could try cutting in half.

Left Side & Back Pain
luvlife replied to kellyarei's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc said to massage that spot. He explained why but I can't remember what he said. It took a little while and didn't feel particularly good, but the massaging helped. -
Everyone is different, but give it 2 weeks and u should star feeling better.

Have you talked to him about it? I know it may be uncomfortable, but sounds like something is going on with him. Or maybe he doesn't even think there is anything wrong or realize how u r feeling. How long have you been together?

Is It Really Working
luvlife replied to ladysb2000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep in mind we are here because we have a lot of weight to lose. You probably won't notice a 13 pound loss. But it does work, be patient. Next thing you will know, you will have lost 50 pounds and you will look in the mirror and see the differences. 13 pounds is excellent in a week and a half. Keep up the great work, but don't get too frustrated when the scale stalls. It will happen, but that doesn't mean the surgery didn't work. You will start losing again after your body adjusts. -

Tmi, But Hoping Some One Can Help !
luvlife replied to irshangel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stand corrected DL:) I had read your post and for some reason was thinking the late dumping was further out. Thanks for the correction. Good luck irshangel! Hope your Dr gives u some answers and hope you are feeling better. -
That is exactly what my doc said and yes it is fine. The most important thing in the first 2 weeks is water, walk, and rest. Protein is worked up to. Listen to the doc, he knows his stuff:) good luck and have a great weekend!

6Wks Out, Gained 1.4Lbs
luvlife replied to jadeharper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would also like to point out that from what I read on this forum and others, it is pretty common to have a stall around the 5-7 week po mark. I am guessing that is about the time when our body starts realizing we are not eating enough. I started my stall at about the 6 week mark and stayed there for about 3 weeks. I just broke out of it now and lost 7 pounds this week. Just be patient and let your body work its magic. -
Congrats! That is soooo great! Enjoy your moment! Happy Friday:)

Don't focus on Protein the first couple of weeks. Your top priorities should be Water, walk, and rest. Protein is something you work up to, but you need to stay hydrated. Good luck! surgeversary 7/24/12, highest weight 267, surgery weight 262, current weight 216

In Need Of Some Support...
luvlife replied to Twilkes12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just make sure you lose whatever amount of weight your surgeon wants you to. I think everyone cheated on the liquid diet. But tomorrow is a new day. You can do this! It is so much easier after the surgery! surgeversary 7/24/12, highest weight 267, surgery weight 262, current weight 216 -
