    What ya eating tonight?

I finally finished the meatballs. It's taken me four meals :-/ ugh...done with meatballs for a while!!
  3. I feel like my whole world doesn't revolve around food!! I don't get up thinking about breakfast and I don't go to bed thinking About breakfast!!! Holla!!!
  4. Changingme, the HARDEST part of surgery for me was "breaking up with food." I had a hard time and meal after meal I wanted that rush I felt with high fat foods I ate pre op. I KNOW the hard time you're in now. I'm lifting you up in prayer. For me, my rny was a lot like being postpartum in that it was a fog of going through the motions (fixing protein shake after protein shake). Then the fog cleared and I was able to set REALISTIC goals and eat good things. I hope you are able to get out of your bad habits too.

    Question?

I'm 5 and 1/2 months post op. I do occasionally eat bread, but never anything like a tortilla or a flat bread (bad experiences!). I also eat corn. Again, it's certainly not often, but I won't specifically avoid it. Pasta, rice and the like has never sat well with me, so I avoid that completely. Hope that helps. Congratulations!!

    What ya eating tonight?

I had 3oz of garlic and herb chicken breast...it was ok, but it's hard to eat much of a food when it is so protein dense!

Tell me about your hair experience!

I'm 5-1/2 months post op and have had very little hair loss. I take biotin every day and use anti breakage shampoo.
  16. I had my surgery 10/05/12. The hardest part for me was "breaking up" with food. I couldn't be excited about my dinners anymore because a couple of bites and it was over. I couldn't use it as a crutch...or a celebration. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. I'm down 82# and not focusing on food has been the most liberating lesson I have ever learned.

    Is this ok?

Groovy, I have lost 82# and STILL wear some of the same shirts!! It does make me wonder how bad they looked 82# ago, but they'll be too big one day, and so will your 22s!!

    Is this ok?

Good for you for getting to the gym and making it a priority!!! I don't think it matters. Some people say it does, but that's when I usually eat too...it's not like you're eating at 8 and going to sleep at 8:30. There is time to digest in there!!

    What ya eating tonight?

In my Sam's Club I found chicken patties that have grilled onions and Swiss cheese in them. They are fully cooked...just brown and eat. They are delicious and have 180cal, 10gfat, and 20g protein in a patty

    Struggling

Don't worry, girlie!! I know that's so hard to hear, but I have journaled daily since my RNY on 10/5/12, and every single month I had a stall anywhere from 6-12 days. Including October!! It's good to look back on that and realize when that inner pessimist starts talking, I can ignore it because when we do what we should, that scale WILL MOVE EVENTUALLY!! good luck!! Congratulations on your success so far!!
