I had my babies on Monday. Eva (4.07lbs) and Aida (3.13lbs). They were born at 34 weeks after my Water broke. No problems except learning how to eat and gain weight! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk -
Its manageable but still risky! Trust me, Im there now. And I know others in the situation too. Its not worth it to not wait till 12-18 months. They say it for a reason. I wouldnt wish what Ive been through on anyone. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

The fetus uses all your stored Vitamins, not necessarily what you eat. I slept the first 12 weeks. Around week 15, I started getting some energy. Are you still able to take vitamins? Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk -

Oh, as long as those few bites stay down you are okay! I thought you could not tolerate any solids. I was the same way, even after I was dilated. 3-4 bites and I was done. As time goes on, being pregnant your body will let you eat more. I left my surgeon after he tried to redilate my pouch to a regular persons sized stomach. I see my regular ob and a high risk ob. After the first trimester of loosing alot of weight, nausea, and vomiting. I feel so much better. I sent you a private message with my contact info if you have any questions! What part of NY are you in? Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk -

I was dilated about the same time. I was informed the earlier the better. So about 6 weeks. Can you eat slider foods without vomiting? Mashed potatoes, Jello, etc? Or you vomit everything you eat? Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk -

I lived in Long Island, until a few months ago. Now, I live in Florida. Why wont they redilate you? Doing so while pregnant is not dangerous. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk -
2 Months Post Op & Pregnant!
HamDan replied to change4ever12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Also, my Dr wanted to redilate my pouch to normal stomach size because he was uneducated. I refused to have my pouch redilated to go through RNY again after having the baby. BUT if you have a stricture now then get your dilation but dont let them say they are going to make your pouch bigger than the usual rny pouch. As time went on, and I am 6 months now I could start to eat more and more and not gain weight. Many people say their pouch adjust while pregnant so you can eat for the baby and as soon as you deliver, your back at the quick fullness that you used to be. Please stay HYDRATED. If you become dehydrated then you vomit more and irritate your pouch which then causes more vomiting and then becomes a cycle. So that and Vitamins are the most important thing. Believe me.... our bodies are amazing and you can have a healthy baby. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk -
2 Months Post Op & Pregnant!

You can do it. I had hyperemesis ontop of being a fresh post op. I lost 35 pounds and couldnt take Vitamins but the baby will take what it needs from you. Many woman dont eat in their first trimester as much as you think one should. Soooo many people get pregnant right after bypass(although you shouldnt) but have healthy pregnancies and babies. After my hyperemesis subsided, I no longer vomit or am nauseous and eat every 2 hours for calories and nutrition. The vitamins make me nauseous so I just make up with Vitamin rich foods. Believe me, its not as bad as you think. Its just a little hiccup inthe road of pregnancy. Alot of things you dont know if it is from gastric bypass or pregnancy, but as long as your not in pain its okay. Also check out obesityhelp.com and go to the forum pregnancy after bypass. You will see tons of stories and support about us woman who are just fine being pregnant so soon after rny. Right now, the main thing is to stay hydrated. Please contact me if you need any answers, support or anything. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk -

Also, you can do it. Remember your baby will take all the nutrients from you they need. Stay hydrated is a major concern, then Vitamins, then food. I have been unable to take vitamins but babies are still healthy and growing. I also eat every 2 hours to get in calories but I havent gained any weight although the babies are 2pounds each Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk -

The hormones from the mirena and the change in hormones from weight loss will change your cycles. So, you have to go through a few weird cycles before you get a pattern again. I wouldn't get it taken out. I got mine taken out And the hormones and all... ovulated 2 eggs and now prego with twins! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
