Was finally able to up my calories and my 3 week stall broke. I was eating 100 grams of protein and 600 calories with no movement. Diet is 63 percent protein now and I get 800 calories. Found the sweet spot!

Been Stalled For 2 Weeks
moniquevp5005 replied to moniquevp5005's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weird I don't feel like I'm starving at all. Besides I was 335 preop, my body has plenty of stored up fat it can use. I wish I could work out more but doc said I still need to wait for another week or so. -

I keep reading on here that it's normal but why does this happen? I track everything I eat on my fitness pal and I barley ts keep in 600 calories but I do take in my protein, next to no sugar and very low fat send carbs. -
When Will Gas And Queasy Go Away?
moniquevp5005 replied to Wps2's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had the same problem my first week. It will go away if you walk. I found that if I walked shortly after I would burp or pass gas. Also when you lay down try to sleep on alternating sides. Have water with you all the time and sip as much as you can. Your second week will go much better. -

Food Is Everywhere And I'm Depressed And Not Hungry.
moniquevp5005 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 1 week post op and although I'm not hungry all I can notice is that food is everywhere. Its no wonder we have a nation of overweight people. You dont have a chance in Hell if your already predisposed to being overweight. Want to get out and do something but everything is around food. Movies is around food, hanging with family is around food, bowling, food. It's so annoying. Especially when all I can eat are liquids. I stand out like a sore thumb everywhere because I can't eat. Even my family wanted to go to this Italian Market where we love to shop and didnt invite me because our tradition has always been to get a sandwich from the deli there. It hurt my feelings. I don't know, maybe I'm just being overly sensitive but is this normal? Will this feeling go away when I am able to socialize more. Please someone make me feel like I'm not a complete freak! -
Food Is Everywhere And I'm Depressed And Not Hungry.

Right it's funny but more and more I realize that food is a drug. I mean it's everywhere, and to make matters matters worse you doubt see commercials for fresh veggies or fruits, there is not a fast food store where you arrive through and pick up only salads or healthy drinks. It's all crap. The more I think about it they should put warning labels on food like they food cigarettes. Warning these fries are addictive and can cause heart disease and diabetis. Eat at your own risk -
Had my surgery Monday which puts me at almost 4 days post op. Pain has been bad mainly due to me not passing much gas. I also have a swollen left hand from the IV and I think it is more ppainful than my incision. I'm asking a lot and tring to stay on top of my liquid intake which is hard because I sleep a lot. All in all its not do bad but I wish I could get around s little more. Every day it gets better and better.

Tomorrow at 6 am I report to the hospital for surgery. I can't believe this day is finally here. It has been such a long journey but I am so excited to start the next chapter of my life. If anyone has any advice on what I need to bring or do tomorrow please let me know. Thank you everyone for all the support.

Four Days Til Liquid Diet
moniquevp5005 replied to poker aggie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
If your hungry and your going to cheat put something in your protein shake to make it taste better. Chocolate protein with peanut butter and a tsp of instant coffee make it taste good. Get creative! Make a vegatbla soup and puree it. I put garlic, onions, squash, and it was the best! Stay strong. I am on day 6. One more day left!!!! -
Lost 8lbs so far on my liquid diet only 4 days in. Protein is KEY! I feel great, not hungry, full of energy and great mood. It what you make it, that's for sure.

Carnations instant breakfast, no sugar added, 1 scoop of whey chocolate protein, 1/2 instant coffee, 3/4 skim milk, ice and blend! Yummy!!! -
I'm super excited but super nervous. Surgery is 7/23 and I think I am more scared about the liquid diet. Will I feel hungry? Will I succeed? I made a cream summer squash soup which turned out pretty good. Separated it into separate containers then froze some for when I need it after surgery. If you want the recipe let me know. Tastes like a Turkey dinner! Does anyone else have some tips to get through the week? I want to make sure to get enough protein in. To tthose of you just starting out, hang in there!

Sorry 1/2 tsp instant coffee, 3/4 cup skim milk. I bought it because it was recommended on the liquid diet by my doctor. -
