Vitamins are a must. If I miss a day or 2, my energy is zapped. So I can't imagine 5 weeks without them. You really need to find one you can choke down. I know its hard, I was back in the hospital for 6 days with c diff at 3 weeks post op and I wasn't able to take them for a week. It was no fun. I am just now getting my energy back...4 weeks later. Good luck to you.

Anyone had the tummy bug with just diarrhea? I am so weak and it seems to be taking me longer to get over this being post op...it is passing thru my whole family:/
-
Yes, still here getting iv antibiotics because I tested positive for c diff.
-
This darn bug has landed me in the hospital since last night, not sure when I get to go home:(

Ready To Ditch The Chewables
mommaof4zs replied to jenneliza's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told to crush my pills for 2 months, and take chewables vitamins. But apparently all surgeons are so different so I don't know what to tell ya:) after reading all these comments the past couple days, I started just cutting my pills in half and taking them that way and continuing my chewable vitamins. The 3 pills I have are so small though. And the other 2 that are capsules, I am still opening those up and just swallowing the powder. I just couldn't crush those other 3 anymore, It was making my pouch hurt so bad. -

What They Dont Tell You
mommaof4zs replied to 2fat42long's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first 24 hours are rough, no joke. But for me once I got of the morphine pump and onto the liquid pain meds, it went so much better. The key is to walk as much as you can. Especially right after surgery, as soon as they will let you up, take it slow and walk walk walk. And do the same when you get home along with making sure you sip on your water all day long, getting in as much as you possibly can! What kind of job do you have? I guess it depends on that... -
Ready To Ditch The Chewables

I am supposed to be on chewables for 2 months. -
I was just wanting to get an idea of how much other people were walking a day around 10 days post op. I have gotten up to 2 and a half miles/day and feel great. The nurse Practicioner wants me walking 4 miles a day by 6 weeks post op.

That awesome!

Laying Down Position
mommaof4zs replied to Stardusted's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get the yuckiest taste in my mouth from all my meds being crushed and after I eat as well. I got some sf listerine thin strips today and that's been a lifesaver! -

Starving! Am I The Only One Always Hungry?
mommaof4zs replied to sbsmith's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 8 days post op and yesterday was my first day on solids and I felt hungry all day. But I am only allowed soft proteins right now such as cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, eggs, mashed beans(pinto or black) and cheese. Try some of those when you eat instead of applesauce or pudding so you are getting your protein in and it will stay with you longer. I think yesterday I just felt hungry b.c I knew it was the first day in 3 weeks I was able to 'eat' something. Congrats on the 19 pounds, that is awesome!!! Keep me posted on how you are doing since we are only 2 days apart! We can do this together!!! -

Ok Tmi But I Need Help
mommaof4zs replied to roxyraquel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't had my first bm yet (surgery 9/24) but I sure have the bruises:) they shouldn't be giving them to you in the stomach, you've had enough trauma there. The best place I was told was your upper thigh. I have to do them at home once a day for 7 days so I'm sure I will be bruised for a while. My legs look horrible, but I wouldn't want my arms being bruised b.c then everyone else can see them.
