Nausea, nausea, nausea!! It's AWFUL! Someone mentioned the Papaya chews, ... My dearest mother went to GNC for me & they have "sugar-free papaya chews!" Heaven sent!! I've sworn off ANY sweetener, artificial or not. It throws me right into the nauseated 'dumping' episode! Things have calmed down. I'm drinking fresh Water with a smidgen of fresh lemon - cuts the dry mouth. Herbal teas, no sweetener! Skim milk, Greek yogurt..One neighbor made a pot of fresh chicken noodle Soup. We blended that up in the Ninja - yum! My other neighbor cooked some organic carrots, added some salt & blended them for me. Then she made tapioca pudding for me also. I have wonderful friends & neighbors! Hope everyone has a restful night... Any suggestions on the gas pains??? Dawn

Hi All, ... Don't let the perky voice fool you... This has been ONE ORDEAL I never want to repeat EVER! Well, actually, it was already revised! Home now 3 days.. Spent 5 days in ICU. I'm tired, ache like I was beat up, want a very large cold 'anything!' Food makes me nauseated... Crushing pills & taking with other foods is gross!! Why do we think our children or pets won't notice when we sneak medicine into their foods and we are utterly repulsed by its taste????? Ugh!! Dawn

Hi all, It appears there may be an obstruction.. Which is what caused the vomiting. I'm back NPO hoping it resolves itself. Otherwise.. Back to the OR.

I was looking forward to going home today, but yesterday afternoon I spent throwing up. Have a fever of 101 this am, so I don't think I'm going home just yet. I sure don't feel strong enough yet either... D

Thanks tmorgan! Just had my two laps around the floor, if I do 4 a day (easy-peasy) they take the compression stockings off. Hope to get the drain tube and catheter out today also! Tippy! No, I said "yippy". ( darned spell check!) Yes, I have a higher level of discomfort, can't call it pain.. But today they take away the medication pump and I try Vicodin. That worries me... Till later, The New Dawn signing off!!

Yep! Went fine! I'm using my push-button-medication-pump, It seems to help. Tomorrow I have the swallowing study, THEN I can have an ice cube! YEA. I AM SOO HAPPY I DID THIS! All my exercise equipment ready for me @ home, got a Simple Organic cookbook... I'm ready to become the woman I've been stifling inside for too many years!!

Hi Ladies, and any guys out there! I'm 4 hours postop,and feel like I've done a million crunches! Dr was able to ddo laparoscopic. I still groggy, and its hard to type thins. More later..dawn

LOL! With drinking clear liquids all week, there isn't ANY cleaning out left! I'm down 14# in two weeks! (I dont dare try to pass gas! Or I leave a mess!). TMI? sorry! Can't imagine what the Golytly will do! What ime is your surge on Monday? Are you nervous? I'm not..yet. Going to drive down Monday a.m. to the hospital & check in at 8:30! I'll be thinking of you! Good news from Steelersgirl and USAFmom!! Glad you both feel good, or.. Great!! Keep it up! You are great insentive for those of us with upcoming surgery dates! Got 3 days left of my clear liquids, Sunday is the Golytly prep.. And Monday a.m. is the big day!! Dawn

Thanks jnygrl, glad to have more excitement on board! I am soo excited about this! And I'm happy to hear Anne-Cuse say she is 1 wk post op & out walking a mile! My plan is 'no problems after surgery, good recovery, follow Drs instructions to the T, and "HELO! ITS THE NEW ME!" Oh, and by day 10 on the liquid diet, I'm already planning my next real meal, no matter how tiny. 1 black been, tiny cheese, a dab of sour cream & I got me a mini taco!

jnygrl, I'm on the 29th too! 6 days left! Then it's the first day of the rest of our new life!

How's the Boost Popsicles? I tried the drink once & couldn't finish it... Didn't even know they made Popsicles!

Thanks Vicki! I've actually surprised myself! I'm on day 8 of the liquid diet, this week is clear liquids.. Nothing that's happened so far wasn't already explained to me.. So, no surprises! I AM SOOO READY FOR THIS! A week from today, at this time, I will be recovering from surgery! Ye-ha! Dawn

Hi Jackie! Nope, surgery is the 29th. On liquids this week, Monday starts the clear liquids. I'm counting down the days. Still excited, surprisingly content with the liquids.. NO cravings..yet. How are you doing? What are you eating now? Dawn
