K...I'm going to let you girls in on a little secret! I'm 10 days post-op and had 60g of Protein yesterday. Syntrax makes amazing, heavenly protein power in a double stuffed cookie flavor among others. It tastes like a really unhealthy fattening oreo milkshake!! It's amazing and has been a savior!

I had a post op appointment yesterday and i asked this very question. I drink way more than the 1 ounce per hour they were letting me have in the hospital so I was getting really nervous. I was told that as long as you are not gulping water' date=' you really can't damage your pouch with fluids. It made me feel much better to know that I wasn't messing up this early on!FYI - This is not true if you are drinking carbonated beverages.[/quote']
Perfect!!

Yup...no gummies recommended by mynsurgeon either...some problem with absorption.

Just walking in general...no treadmill for me, but every surgeon is different

My surgeon told me exercise resumes after 4 weeks from surgery. That sounds about right. You will need 2 weeks to heal fully

Well I like most of us would eat till there was discomfort in my stomach' date=' you know on the left. Now you will feel slight discomfort to the center. Do not worry about pouch stretching as I can drink a ton of fluids, but handle only about 2 bites then time must go by before food is tolerated.[/quote']
Thanks Mike!

After researching and completely obsessing about having rny for the past month while eagerly awaiting my initial evaluation with the surgeon' date=' I get there, my BMI is 34.9 and the surgeon refuses to see me!!!!!!!! I have been sick for two weeks and have dropped about 6 lbs. and the nurse rounded up a half inch on my height. I have ALL of the other required things and comorbidities. I am so upset! They canceled the appt and told me if I qualify in the future to call back for an appt! I have years of documented obesity!!!!!! Sorry to vent........that's all...... I'm going to eat some junk food now![/quote']What are your height and weight? I know that they usually look for a BMI of 40, BUT would do it under 40 if you can demonstrate a few co-morbidities. Research shows they are trying to eventually be able to preform RNY for those with low BMI's and diabetes, because it's shown to work wonders with that.

It can stretch trust me so be very careful!! I know mine stretchedIt's likely to stretch as it can eventually accommodate for more food, but not on liquids, right?

Very difficult. The pouch is like a funnel and liquids virtually go right thru it with out anytime at all. It is the heavy not as easily digested foods such as steak or more dense foods that will cause the stretching :-)

Funny...vitamins are my favorite part of the day. I am one week post-op and take chewable Iron, multi, D, and calcium citrate with D. Crystal light is too sweet for me! I dilute it lol

Are we supposed to be measuring our Protein Shakes in full liquid stage? My guide says 4-8oz per "meal".

RNY eliminates acid reflux completely
