    Upon Reaching Goal Weight

Like everyone else said...I want to have my own clothing style and not just accept whatever fits. I want to wear colors and not just black. I want to wear jeans! I want to wear heels! I want to look and dress like a woman in her 20's would. Sometimes a lot of the plus size stuff is very "mature" for my age, but beggers can't be choosers! Lol

    Totally Confused

Probably just trying to move his products along. I'm sure he was trying to make a sale. Like others said, just stick to your Dr. Or nutritionist's advice

    Being Umemployed After Sugery..?

Would you be interested in attending college for some classes or for another degree if you have one? Not only does it make you more attractive to employers with a degree or two, but it's good to be busy, and maybe you'd enjoy it in the meantime while you look for work!
  9. I'm not giving up any time soon...I want this.

    Denied

I also have to do the 6 month supervised weigh-ins. I will finish in December and pray to get my surgery before Christmas and before the new year. The only thing that really, really, REALLY stresses me out is what am I supposed to be doing? Would it be in my best interest to lose weight or to stay the same or what? So many people say if you lose too much, insurance can deny you, but if you gain too much, insurance can also deny you for diet noncompliance. I'm literally terrified that if I do well and lose 20lbs (I'd still be at a 40bmi) that my insurance company would say to themselves, "wow, this girl was able to lose weight during a 6 month supervised diet with a PCP...this proved she doesn't need the surgery"! I'm scared of that. What they don't realize is yes, I can lose weight, but can I keep it off and not regain it back plus 30lbs more in the process? This is something we've all been through numerous times and I'd hate to see my success or lack of success during these 6 months be a factor in my insurance approval or not. So stressful

    Insurance And Bmi

Just curious... my BMI is 46 with one co-morb. I am doing my 6 month diet. If i were to somehow reach a 40.0 would I be disqualified? Would it look bad if I did lose some weight?

    Which To Have

I researched the band in 2006, but never followed through with it after my first consult, which I'm glad. I then wanted the sleeve. My younger sister was in the process of doing pre-op testing for the sleeve, so we researched it together. I wanted the sleeve because It seemed less serious than the bypass and I liked the fact that there was less malabsorption issues. My friend in college also got the sleeve and lost over 100 and told me it was the greatest thing she ever did. My sister is two weeks post-op from the sleeve and loves it BUT.... 1) Found out my insurance won't cover any weight loss procedure except gastric bypass 2) Found out most people who get the sleeve end up NOT losing as much weight as they hoped for 3) I figured if I'm going to have a weight loss surgery, I want the BEST one out there with the best long term results, etc. Now After much research, I wouldn't have any other procedure done besides bypass
  17. I'm pre-op and got stuck having to do the 6 month weigh-ins, which I'll complete in December and am hoping to have surgery before Christmas! I was able to do a lot of the pre-op testing (it was a lot) fairly quicker than average because I'm a student and have the summer off. Most days I feel like December will never get here quickly, on other days, I feel the time will fly. I just can't imagine getting any bigger (which has been difficult) between now and December. My sister just had the vertical sleeve surgery. We've always been obese together and centered our lives around food and eating out at new places. She's now down 28 lbs 3 weeks post-op and while I'm happy for her, I only wish it were my time too So who's excited and ready for December?

    Smoke Free

Day 29 here! Congrats to us both. I notice I don't physically crave cigs anymore, but I mentally crave them during stressful times. We can do it!
  20. Thank you! I feel more at ease now
  21. I'm nervous for mine! What could possibly go wrong that the cardiologist would not give clearance? Would Anything like tachycardia/bradycardia or a minor heart murmor prevent clearance?
  22. Keep us updated. Hang in there.
