    Does Anyone Take Antidepressants?

Yes, been on zoloft for a little over two years and being off of it is not an option. There are some SSRI's that can be crushed or even some in liquid form. Check with your Dr. immediately to see what your options are.

    Another Newbie

Welcome! Any type of pill can be crushed with a pill crusher you can purchase in CVS, walmart, walgreens etc. if the pills you take don't come in liquid form. After surgery, crushed pills can be mixed in unsweetened applesauce, but it def doesn't taste good lol!

I Feel Good But I Barely Eat

Is it normal to be vomiting at this point where you're at post-op? Feel better mami!
  11. I think going into this surgery, it's important to be realistic with expectations, as this surgery is far from "magic" or a cure. To some extent yes, there will be cravings. It's knowing how best to handle them when they do arise and figure out for yourself ways to cope woth the cravings by developing a new hobby, etc. I'm sure they're more manageable after surgery, but of course there will always be certain foods that trigger a mental craving.

    So Pissed!

Absolutely. Couldn't have said it better myself, DLC. Waiting sucks but in the end, anything worth having, is worth fighting for. It'll all pay off in the end!

    So Pissed!

My insurance requests 6 months weigh-in and I'm on my third, but it IS so frustrating when you are mentally ready to have the surgery right away. Take the 3 months as a time to prepare for the surgery in terms of cutting out what you can so it won't be such a drastic change after surgery. Good luck and hang in there. It will go fast! :)

    Testing Is Complete!

    Very exciting!!!!!!!
  15. What insurance do you have? I plan to get my surgery on winter break in between semesters as well. I had my seminar in June, met with surgeon in July, and learned I have to do 6 months of weigh-ins. I'm currently set up for weigh-in 3 in September. A lot of the pre-op requirements are time consuming, but can be done in 2-3 months or less depending on your work/school schedule. Good luck!

    Medications

My sister just had surgery and was instructed to crush all pills and put them in unsweetened applesauce. She said the taste was almost unbearable.

I am also on zoloft and have been for close to 3 years. Is the liquid zoloft really that bad? What'd you mix it with?
  19. I want to walk across the stage in May of 2013 for my masters and feel good about myself. My goal weight is 125-150 lbs.

The way it works with my surgeon is that all pre-op work HAS to be completed prior to even getting a date.

    Other Medical Issues?

At this point, I'm kinda worried for the cardiologist and upper endoscopy. Hopefully things will be fine

    Other Medical Issues?

Yes. Throughout all this testing, there's been a few issues found so far. So far, there's a cyst that was discovered on my thyroid as well as a faster than normal heart rate (tachycardia). The biggest mystery right now is something is showing up abnormal in my blood work. My blood is showing high levels of inflammation and elevated white blood cells. So far no one knows what's up. Hopefully this is fixed soon. It does happen though.
