Best thing you can do for the gas is walk, walk, walk! When my sister had her surgery, she told me the walking was the only way she could relieve that feeling!

Ok guys...since I feel so comfortable in this thread with you all...I just wanted to (continue) to vent. I need some good thoughts passed my way! Yesterday I had a pill cam endoscopy to view my small intestines. I had a colonscopy...and the biopsy came back negative for Crohn's, but with the pill cam, they are still checking to see if I have Crohn's. My surgeon said he will not do the bypass on January 15th if it's Crohn's, but he feels confident that it's not. I'm still scared though. I get my results Monday or some time mid-week the latest. Worst case if it was Crohn's, I'd have to resubmit to insurance everything and do the sleeve (which my insurance doesn't cover, but we could try). So not only is it HARD doing the liquid diet, but it's also HARDER knowing it could all be for nothing if they do find Crohn's. I will keep all updated. So surgery is a go for 1/15, but if it's Crohn's...it's off. PLEASE keep me in your prayers. I don't think it's that...but there's a small chance it could be. Anyway, I'm day 5 on liquid diet and just trying to hang in there. I'll let you guys know of the results as soon as I know. Fingers crossed, please.

Oh thank god someone has mentioned this. By "shadoobs" I assume you mean "the runs". hahaha. Not to be all TMI, but since starting this liquid diet, I have been gassy and back and forth to the bathroom. I thought I was the only one. It's driving me crazy. I think my body is slowly getting used to the shakes, but geez, they don't warn you! LOL

Anyone of you guys on facebook? I'd love to watch some of your progress and connect Seeing shrinking pictures is so motivational. Only issue is MOST people on my fb don't know I'm getting the surgery, but we can talk in comments and stuff -
Good luck!!! So excited for you. One4ozzie (Gen) already left some great suggestions for you. Another recommendation is Propel Zero. It comes in a variety of flavors...no cals, no sugar, and it's delicious during this liquid diet lol. Another recommendation is lots and lots of herbal tea (decaf). Make sure to get some chewable Multivitamins and calcium with Vitamin D and some pepcid to keep your stomach ok if you're allowed to take it (my surgeon recommended it for me).

That's good to know nothing feels different on the inside. I'm always afraid I'm going to literally FEEL the physical re-routing of my intestines and the smaller stomach. Lol. Maybe I watch too many movies.

I am on day 4...10 days left. It's very tough...I won't lie. Lol

What They Don't Tell You About RNY!
lovealways posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So...I'm having surgery January 15 and start my two week liquid diet New Year's Day. Up until this point, I have not been so nervous. I've watched my 21 year old sister lose 110lbs in 5 months with VSG and was by her side every step of the way both pre-op and post-op. there are some days I get a little worried about malnutrition and Vitamin deficiency, but these fears are not enough to scare me away from the surgery I so desperately need. I've done my research. Years of research! I know everything there is to know and then some because I watched my sister with her sleeve... But what do I need to know that research probably has NOT prepared me for?? I want to hear stories! Facts! The ugly and the great truth of it! What's something YOU wish you knew or prepared for better going into surgery? I want to feel fully mentally and physically prepared; so lets get some stories going without sugar-coating!! -
