Not Trying To Be A Downer But?

I'm 5 months after surgery and list about 55 lbs but prior to surgery I also lost to qualify so its about a total of 110 lbs in a little over a year. I have never felt better. I'm 60 years old and have more energy less body pain no diabetes or hbp. It is like a dream come true. Absolutely no complaints here. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

    Not Losing Weight :(

My surgery date was July 6. Tomorrow will be my 3 month anniversary. My highest weight was 319 last year in May. My weight before surgery was 265.5. Today I am 227.1. So it's 38 lbs. but 9 were the first week post op. sometimes I read posts that people lost so much more than me and I get frustrated. I also get frustrated when I go back and forth a couple of pounds. I am however losing more fat than muscle so that is good and I'm down to a size 18 first time in 20 years. So really it's that we are so anxious to be an ideal weight that we get frustrated. Think that you're losing not gaining like before. You're doing great. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

    New

My dr also said gastric bypass because it resolves the diabetes and it did for me. I went home without any medication and my last a1c was 5.8. I feel great and my hbp is controlled without meds too. Go for it. Best thing I have ever done. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

    Dicouraged

You can do this. I tried weight watchers pre op and it worked very well plus couch potato me got a personal trainer and started exercising. It took me 6 months to lose the 30 lbs I needed to qualify for surgery but it got done. Now I had the surgery and am losing about 10 lbs per month. So it's doable and wonderful to see the weight drop off. You can do it. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

    Unjury Protein

I make a smoothie with whey protein powder, frozen berries, banana, yogurt milk and ice. It is wonderful and has 32 grams of protein. I have it for dinner sometimes. There is also special k protein plus and milk for b'fast. I like pure protein shakes but cannot do protein powders except in the smoothie. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  11. I just had surgery Friday July 6. I also feel that the 60 grams of protein and the 64 oz of water are not easy. I'm on Clear liquids now. Last week before the surgery I thought oh the Proteins no big deal I'll just drink two 20 oz of Isopure at 40 grams each get the protein and another 3 bottles of Gatorade water etc and no problem. Well it's taking me all day to sip the isopure one bottle drink broth and a couple of bottles of water and Powerade. Any suggestions? Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
