You will be having a hyda test. I had that done because nothing else showed any problems with my galballder. It probably best if they just take it out now. Its a common complication with people who have had WLS. I hope they are able to fix everything and get you back on the road to recovery. I know how steasdu it is to think you have got this down only to have a set back.

I'm two weeks out today and yes I know what you mean. I tried some thicker consistency food tonight and it got stuck. I now know for sure exactly where my pouch is because I coul feel it and feel my stomach eveytime it was moving.

How Long Until Doing Housework?
Candi_83 replied to jenneliza's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I made up casseroles and bags of crock pot meals and put them in the freezer. Its easy to pop out and through it in the ovrn it crock Pot. I'm 13 days post op and yesterday was the first day I really felt like doing anything. I have a 6 and 11 yr old. They have been a big help. I gave them a list of daily chores and they have been great with it. We just got a new puppy too so they have been puppy sitting also. You will be surprised how much your kids step up with this. You will be a proud momma and be able to get the rest you need. -
I would stay away from the potatoes. They are all sugar. Try some things like chili or vegetable soup an purée it a little. I am two weeks out and my dr told me to start trying thinned oatmeal, eggs (a little undercooked), chillin blended up, yogurt with fruit, half a banana, ff refrained beans. Pick one and thin it out with slim milk or broth. Then slowly start making a little thicker. That might help with the nausea. I am having a hard time wanting I eat. I have to make myself eat at specific times or I find that I've gone all day and hasn't eaten.

I am 9 days post op and I have had the most awefull lower left abdominal pain. My muscles are so sore it hurts to sit for too long, hurts to stand up straight, it even hurts to talk some times. I pain meds the dr gave me didn't even touch it. I'm now on muscle relaxers and still not getting much relief. The pain go a little better once the drain came out on day 10. Has anyone else experienced this kind of pain? If so was there anything you did that made it feel better?

Hello everyone. Today I am 9 days post of from lap roux n y. However 18 months ago I had gastric sleeve. I struggled with weight loss after about 40 pounds. After trying everything to loose weight, one year out the dr and I decided that it was time to discuss doing the surgery again. I tried for 4 month to get insurance to pay for a resleeve and they denied it Everytime. So as june approached I told the doc to try to get bypass approved. It was. I had my bypass on June 28. I am still really sore, tired, and in WAY more pain than I was with the sleeve. I never joined a forum or read on one after sleeve. I also never really had a support group. This time I'm doing it different. This time I will succeed and hit my goal weight. :-)

Protein/food/enough Calories
Candi_83 replied to TinyMamiOf3kids's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a hard time getting don that much liquid with the shakes so I have resorted to protein shots. I have found them at GNC, Vitamin shopp and Walmart. They are about 3 oz and vary in protein content from 25g to 42g. Theyre expensive($2-$3 each) but that's t only way I can even get close to the 60g my dr recommends. I also like Greek yogurt. It's pretty high in protein. -

I miss monster energy drinks. I don't think I needed them for the caffienne, I just LOVED the way they tasted. I also miss eating bread. Growing up in Texas, every meal included bread, pasta/rice/potatoes, and sweet peas/corn. It's going to be difficult to adjust to eating other things and cutting out those foods that my family and I love so much. One good thing is that my husband and I have decided to make this a family lifestyle change not just mine.

That is how I felt after my gastric sleeve. I hosted a party at my house 4 days post op and was back teaching 10 days post op. this time not so much. Up until today I felt like I could barely move without the inside of my stomach feeling like it was being ripped in half. My husband says its Gods way of not letting me over do it this time. :-) Congratulations in your decision and good luck in your weightloss journey.

Bambiv, I too am afraid of failing. I had gastric sleeve 18 months ago and never could get below 190. That was at the 9month mark and I has lost 50 lbs. Then the pounds started slowly adding on until I hit 200 again. That's when my dr suggested we look at a revision. I had bypass done on 6/28/2012. I CAN'T fail at this as it is the only option I have left. I have to get the weight off. After the first surgery I never joined a forum or support group. I now realize how important it is going to be to help me be successful. I now feel like I'm reading blogs, forums, or Internet searches all the time trying to make sure I'm doing what I need to do and feeling the way I'm supposed to feel. You will do amazing and I wish you the best I your weightloss journey.

That's awesome!!!! I'm down 16 pounds as of this morning. I'm 9 days out. I still feel really full of fluids and gas so I'm hoping it dissipates quickly and the scale will reflect it. Good luck on your journey!!

Hellokitty227 are your lower left abdominal muscles still really sore? Mine still feel like they are on fire.

I had sleeve 18 months ago and only lost 40 lbs. it was considered a failure. I told people after I had that surgery, not before. When I decided to have bypass, I told very few people. When I even mentioned it people would start talking negatively about at so I didn't want their negativityThe only people the knew about it was my hubby and sister. The day before surgery I told my family just so they knew i was going to be in the hospital. I say if you dont tell people that's your choice. If people ask "what have you done to lose weight" tell them "hard word, detailed food journaling, etc" if you don't want to tell them. Good Luck on your weightloss journey.

Things You Don't Have To Worry About When Your Not Fat
Candi_83 replied to Monique5005's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Running/jogging without my "tongue" (lower fatty stomach) slapping my legs Buying clothes in a "normal" store. No more lane Bryant, torrid, or "women's" sections. Being able to wear skinny jeans Being able to wear animal print clothing and not worrying about people thinking I'm smuggling an exotic animal. Not having to try and tuck my fat into the top of my pants Wearing low rise shorts/pants with out the top half of my bum hanging out the top. -
Your intestines shed its lining every 48hrs and what your seeing is probably that. Sounds normal to me.
