I like the optimum nutrition pure gold protein poeders...especially vanilla creme and strawberry banana. Mix with nf milk is best...or i like coconut water...helps keep dehydration at bay. Kathy...on day 10of 14 day liquid/pro...surgery is monday.

Liquid protein diet getting tiresome...four days to go out of 14. I am eager to be on the other side. Surgery early monday morning. Not nervous yet...probably sunday. Am keeping busy on weekend.

Just made it up and tried it...yummy! 1 scoop strawberry banana Protein powder (I used optimum nutrition gold standard...any would do..even plain strawberry) 1 cup vita coco coconut Water with peach and mango flavoring 1 tbsp sf ff banana pudding mix (instant dry measure) 1 cup crushed ice Mix first 3 ingredients in blender briefly. Put in ice; pulse and blend until iced smoothie consistency. 200 cal 24 protein (depends on powder) Lots of potassium in coconut water...good for electrolyte imbalance

Thanks for recipe. Dont know if i am allowed to have the fruit...i will check. Sounds yummy. The muscle milk light from costco keeps me the fullest. Hot protein soups (proti diet) have also kept me sane. Yes and hot choc from bariwise. But oh...just to chew something!!

I have hiatal hernia...doc is going to repair it during rny surgery...this type of hernia has to be repaired to make surgery successful and is present in 10% of those of us presenting ourselves for rny. Lower hernia is a different issue ibthink.

Congrats Lou for all of the hard pre op work. I wish you smooth sailing and quick recovery. I will be going into surgery in a week. My thoughts and prayersvwith you and all others going into surgery thisvweek.

I was initially refused for psych eval also. Started therapy on eating disorders. Then i changed clinics...closer to home anyway. It has been a long road (18mo) but i feel totally ready and surgery is sept. 24! Don't give up. I am 67 and i just kept on marching straight ahead. Nothing which has the capacity to help you live a fuller and more productive life comes easily. I wish you a new path filled with fulfillment and new horizons...dont give up.

I asked doc...he said yes...get flu and shingles and pneumonia shots. I had pneumonia shot last year so had other two about a month ago. Surgery in a week. I need all the pre op help i can get...also started exercise program 3months ago...anything to make smooth recovery more likely. Also lost 50 pounds...have another 120 to go. My biggest hurdle is now...liquid protein (2weeks) is driving me crazy...so hungry. Any suggestions...or words of compassion...i am on day 5...feels like forever. Ask your doc about shots...different docs...different ideas/rules. Best wishes for your new life.

I have been through all the tests...seemed like forever. Then lean green diet for 3months...lost 40. Now 14 days on liquid proteins...surgery sept 24. I also was encouraged to begin an exercise routine which i did. I am tired of waiting but so glad i am at a facility where they want you as safe / healthy as possible before i go in a week and a half. Keep on keeping on...i know it will all pay off. All of that being said i do feel sorry for myself. Thank God for all of you on this website!

I am on day 3 of my 14 day liquid routine...i agree...yuksville! I feel so sorry for myself...told dh he could cook outside since weather is nice. I'm thinking after surgery there won't be the hunger...isn't that part of the reason for surgery? My surgery date is Sept 24...a week from next monday! I have been on this road for 18 months...lean green diet last three months (lost 40 pounds). I would give anything for lean green right now. I feel yr pain...heck...i share it!! Lol

Yes...i will be hoping and praying for you. After 14 months i finally am acheduled for sept 24...so long because i switched docs/centers.

I tried a super yummy combo this morning...1c amond milk (the 40cal vanilla kind)...1 packet wonderslim shake/pudding mix...1/2 c frozen raspberries...picked last week from friends yard. I mix with immersion blender...super yummy!!! I am still pre op waiting for surgery date trying 2 b patient. I am really losing some serious pre surgery weight...

I keep on the 1200-1400 cal lean/green...been at it now for 5 weeks. Approved but still no surgery date ... hard to stay focused when i have to keep bothering the office...get me a surgery date! I have been waiting 14months ...changed surgery groups ... now just interminable waiting...still going to group support meetings.

Smoke free two years...yea...gained weight but am thrilled to be nonsmoker. I am pre op for sept 1 approx. All reqs in ...just waiting for pre op apt. Have lost 35 already...i am eager to get going
