I am 8 days post op and have started a very heavy menstral cycle. This is my 5th day and its not easing up whatsoever. I have no energy at all and dizziness. I was anemic post up and was warned that i would need blood following surgery. They tested me before discharge and my levels were fine @ 10. I am wondering if i am low because of my heavy cycle? I feel like i just cant get myself together.. Could barely type this post.

Yes, I was already anemic before surgery. They had even planned to give me blood during surgery if I didn't get my iron up over the weekend. I did. This is the heaviest bleeding I've done in my life! I don't have any post surgery pain. Just period pain and weakness. I'm going to get my levels checked in the morning.

Omg..started my cycle today...6 days post op...and i almost passes out from the sight of all the blood. Im on day 2..so im gonna rest my body all day but i hope its not unusally long.

I had surgery at 715am..had some scar tissue removed and have to have a hernia repaired at a later time but overall...i really cant complain. No pain just uncomfortable...the gas was horrible in recovery but has been very mild today. Thank you God. Im ready to get this life change started!

I did a barium swallow this morning with about 6 big gulps of 2 different bariums. I thought that was already alot. Then i get back to.my room and ask for ice chips, no water or ice in over 24hrs. The nurse comes back with a huge jug of ice water saying to do my best to get 4 small cups of water in. Basically just spit up a blood clot with blood....my hospital is an hour away... -
Yeah it does lol but it's still more than a sip of Water...I dont get it but thank God cuz I truly believe that's y I am not dehydrated.

Yeah they won't let me drink either. I'm on Iv fluids which have sent my blood sugar into a craze. I've been getting insulin shots.

Im Tuesday and both of my daughters have a cold.

I got my pre op lab results and i have low potassium. I start meds today to get it up by Tuesday. Ive read some pretty scary stuff about low potassium. So far my surgery isnt delayed but this is a bit scary. Anyone else have this problem?
