    Leading a life of slime......

I slime too!! I just had my 2nd fill and I will tell you that I can barely eat anything, Oh my gosh apple sauce would barely go down, but in the evening I ate mashed potatoes good. Weird huh, also if I stand up and eat it helps the food go down. But I slime alot and I get frustrated sometimes, because I just want to eat.. and then I tell myself this is exactly what you want, you don't want to be able to eat whatever and how much you want. Oh well bitter sweet band!!!
  5. Buy an over the counter enema. They are very cheap and they work great, try that before you go to the hospital...

    Never heard this!!!???

There is nothing to even be worried about, you will be knocked out and not know what they will be doing to you.. It really is not a big deal, that is the least of your worries. It is the pain after words that is what hurts, not anything going on during your surgery, that is the fun part, you get to be drugged up and feel nothing. Well good luck!!

    Stitches

I know it is annoying!! So tell me how have you managed to lose so much weight already!! I have lost 12 LBS so far, but I have not been to the doctors in over 2 weeks, so I am hoping it will be more. Do you mind if I ask you what you have been eating and how much!

    Stitches

One week after my surgery! ON my post op visit. She did it fairly easy!, But you need to make sure you un loop it with tweezers or something. then pull it out.

    Stitches

No It didn't hurt at all. But it has a loop, so they really need to pull it out, that way you won't tear it open. When I had mine, I was scared for her to pull it out, and she is the one who noticed it and said she wanted to take it out, and I told her NO IT CAN STAY!!! I was being a big baby. But no it really didn't hurt maybe a little pinch.

    Stitches

I had the exact same thing, when I went to my one week follow up appointment, my doctor got something that looked like tweezers and just pulled it out. But I would let your doctor pull it out. But it really is not a big deal, just annoying. my Doctor did tell me that she was trying to figure out a different way to put the stitches, so that doesn't happen. I only had one thank God, cause that would drive me Freakin nuts too. Good luck!

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far

Hi there, I am 3 weeks out from my surgery, which was August 16. I did Clear liquids for 1 week and after a couple of days I felt hungry more, then I was so happy to move to mushies, I did eggs for my first meal, oh my gosh talk about feeling the food right in the throat region, but as time has progressed I have been able to eat more, I start out eating very slow, and then if I am tolerating what I am eating I will eat more until I feel content, I try not to feel stuffed before stopping, but since I have no restriction, I get hungry more frequently, so I will have to incorporate snacks in between meals. I find that Low fat granola bars help alot, or yogurt with granola in it. Today is my first day on regular foods, I had tuna with fat free miracle whip and eggs and a few crackers, and it went down ok, but I had to keep stopping in between eating, because I was feeling the food in my throat, so I waited a few minutes and could eat some more. I can't wait until the 18th, because I will get my first fill. I hope it gives me good restriction, so I wont feel hungry so frequently. I definetly think that everyone getting the band should really stick to clear liquids for as long as the are supposed to, I know you will be starving, but it really helps you feel good, when you know you haven't cheated, and also a TIP:: SUGAR FREE HArd candies saved my life. When feeling hungry or deprived I would suck on a candy, or I would get the NIPS Sugar free coffee or caramel flavored hard candy, they are some what chewy, but it really satisfies. It will help you to appreciate each stage that you have to go through in this journey if you DO NOT CHEAT!!! You have to remember why you got this band in the first place. Make sure to keep healthy food in your house, because if you don't, you will be so hungry that you will just grab anything available, I have a lot of people living in my house right now and there is alot of bad food in my pantry and refrigerator, but I make sure that I have sugar free pudding ready and availabe to eat, low fat yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. It encourages me to eat those foods instead. Well I guess I will shut up now, but I just wanted to share a little bit of my experiences. Have a great day

Had my surgery and doing great!

I had my surgery on 8/16/07, and lost 12 LBS one week after surgery, but I know it was the all liquid diet. It has been 2 weeks since my surgery and I am on the mushy stage. I have been getting more hungry lately, I eat cream of Wheat and I am hungry and hour later. I can't wait until I get to eat more solid food, because I will hopefully stay fuller longer. I will get my first fill in two weeks. hopefully that will help me out. I have not stepped on a scale since last week, but I am afraid to, because I feel I might have gained weight, since I have been eating mushies. Well we will see. I do know that eggs are not as easy to eat as I would like them to be, I thought they would be soft enough, but NOT. I also tried to eat those handi snacks the peanut butter one, OMG it got stuck right in my throat area, I know I wasn't supposed to eat that yet, but I was experimenting....OOPS. Well I will weigh my self soon and give an update.
