I started out my journey @ 415 which was in May...as of today (and today isn't my official weigh in day but I can't stay off the scale) I weigh 343. I had my RNY on August 15th. My surgeon said losing 75% of what you are overweight is reasonable. I am going for more than that. so if you have 200 lbs to lose, realistically you could easily be down 175 by 18 months Good luck! would that def stop you from having the surgery? maybe find a JW surgeon who would respect your beliefs.

^Thank you. I knew this was going to happen to me but it is good to see it in black and white. I have been overweight since middle school and it just kept getting worse. I know I will have skin issues and I am 27 yrs old also

Where in North Carolina are you? I live in Kernersville. Good thing about a pig pickin'? My family I have down here is from Jacksonville so its all East carolina BBQ...no sugar! And I love me some Smithfields, lol. I am a damn Yankee transplant

I am not JW, but I am a little familiar with the beliefs and such. I didn't need any blood, but your surgeon may require you to sign a piece of paper saying if you need it that they can give it to you if they need to save your life. If you express your wishes they should comply.

I was allowed to drive when I stopped sucking on the pain meds, lol. Went back to work at 3 weeks...probably could have gone back at 2. 4.5 weeks out from surgery and I am not allowed to lift over 20 lbs. -

I work for the reservations desk at US Airways...and I got to talk to Adam Richman! He is wicked cool. But watching his show makes me want to do the challenges and I have never been a competive eater...I know before surgery I would have gotten sick. After surgery I would never even consider it. But it doesn't stop the want. -
I may have to try them...I have never tried cottage cheese with fruit. always skeeved me out.

I will be 6 weeks post op when I go...will the rides be bad for my incisions? I am healed externally, but especially around my largest incision it hurts internally. (I know its bruised...) Will the josling around screw me up? -
I would be equally concerned about the cranberry juice as the vodka. But I am paranoid about dumping syndrome

People will always do what they want. I think it should be people choice...just like it was my choice to have surgery and never have soda again.
