My Family Is Having Pizza
jenneliza replied to Molly1978's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got my first period since surgery today too. It was terrible! I've been tired and in pain with severe cramping and backaches. And the PMS was terrible too. Could you pull the cheese and toppings off and just eat them? -
Wow thanks this is great! I will feel less self conscious next time working out!

Lol I forgot about the crazy dreams. They were mostly in the preop diet and first few weeks. I kinda miss them! -
Craving Junk Food..any Advice Would Help Me.
jenneliza replied to jgarcia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try spinach chips instead of kale. A friend turned me on to these! I keep a bag of sugar free werthers in my desk for cravings at work. At home Special K chips with a little 'Protein dip' (plain Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. I like to add a pack of onion Soup mix). I also like shelled pumpkin seeds or salted boiled edamame. I made 'naked wings' which is just non breaded chicken with buffalo sauce and dipped in bleu cheese. Lol of course only 2 of these is plenty but its nice to have normal foods. I try to keep these Snacks to once or twice a week because as soon as I started experimenting with snacks I hit a stall. -
I tried one that was mostly flat and just the little bit of carbonation made me very uncomfortable so it's a no go for me. Today I had a coke zero at my sons football game and let it go completely flat and was fine.

I am 10 weeks out and haven't had it yet. But I had a screwy cycle before rny too.

It probably is too dry. Have you tried the kind in water or olive oil? They go down great!

My doc says it should be able to fit through a straw but I made mine more like a paste.

Here Is My Before And After
jenneliza replied to Wps2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats!! -
I still cook all the time. A great thing is when my kids want to go get a specific meal and then I plan recipe tweaks to make a much healthier version at home. I think it sets a good example for them that you can have great tasting healthy things.

Getting Dlcoggin To Post A Pic

Yay DL!! Even your doggie is a cutie! It's great to see your smile along with your words. Thanks! -
Our county fair is a big deal around here and for the past five years or so I have avoided getting in the rides. I avoided because many things have a 230/250 lbs limit or a size limit and I was fluffy with a round belly. At the ticket kiosk I asked if I was too big for the rides this year and the lady actually laughed and said 'no way'!! So not only did my kids enjoy the rides but so did I. And they enjoyed them even more because mom was screaming and laughing and having fun with them this year instead of waiting and watching. That experience made everything worth it and the good times are just beginning! If anyone else is contemplating surgery just think about the little things like this that you will gain!

For Those Tummy Sleepers...
jenneliza replied to my3stars's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After about 4 or 5 days. -
Great idea! I was thinking about this at the grocery store. Having quick lunch options for work would be great! Would be nice for those nights when the kids aren't home too! I agree with DLC. Also agree please keep the tons of soggy red peppers out of them - gross!! And if you do your homework the meals could be compatible with Atkins or medifast possibly! I'll be your RN spokesperson testimonial!

Flu Shot Before Surgery ?
jenneliza replied to Big Lou's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't do it any later than tomorrow. You don't want to get sick from it and get cancelled for that it a fever. We usually tell our patients 7-10 days before at the latest. -
